...yep...agree..
First pic is not a standard bracket...home-made depot-installed...? Could also be a foot scrape...LOL....? Agree that last two pics are for a fire extinguisher (#2) inside the veh and (#3) a decon bottle or fire ex. on the fender. Not unusual....just not there on every truck.
....beautiful hanger...
Would sell a kidney...maybe even indentured servitude...to have that great hanger...!!! Of course, the MV's arn't nothing to sneer at either....LOL. We all have something the other guy would also like to have.....but we just wern't at the right place at the right time...
Just a note to ask if any FV432 Bulldog owners are interested in shareing contact info for support and tech knowledge. Also for sale/trade of spare parts and such. Have early (1963) manuals but would like to borrow a later one to copy and provide to other Bulldog owners. Started thread for a...
Just spent 4-hrs doing grease, lube, oil and general clean up of my Bulldog. Will attempt to put mirrors on for temporary driving on trailer and such. Have the original (copy) Brit field manual (1963) and drivers manual (1965). Cannot locate a lube chart. There are zerk fittings all...
orange tip 1919A4...?
WTF...? An orange tip on a 1919A4 Browning...? And tell the bad guy's that you have a 'dummy' gun on your multi-$$$$ MV...? O,the shame.....LOL. Believe your state has similar laws,so put a coat of black paint on the booster, stick a cloth belt or steel links in the top...
....trailer...
Unless you have a chance to inspect and check it out....I'd get a trailer. Since the equipment is smaller than a duce....I agree a car trailer should do you fine. Better than taking a chance for even a short 50 mile trip.
.....float it...
Unless the hull is cracked or damaged beyond repair, you got a great MV to restore. Since so many are used in commercial ops...should be able to obtain some good parts as necessary. Nice recovery.....
...add 'em...
Not a pilot...but should be able to add an extra tank or two...either a bladder style or the outboard boat type. These should be easy to modify for your use....
...nice score...
Yep...w/o the running gear probably weighs about 3K or less. Good job of getting it on the trailer and secured for the trip. Lots of good parts.....esp. the engine/tranny and fuel tank and radiator.....
...not bad...
Frankly, the tank is better looking and probably take's less to maintain than the model....LOL. Women are like fighter jets....pleasant to look at,fun to ride...but take a lot of $$$ to maintain. ( From a guy who has been married 42-yrs......to the SAME WOMAN......LOL)
...local tow service...
Most DRMO's have limited hr's of operation. So....getting a local tow service to pick up and hold for you at their secure fenced-in yard is a good option. Email sent for particulars....
...which one..?
Post is in Humvee section,so assume you are asking about this type vehicle. However...which one...? H-1..,H-2...H-3...? They are all different. I built the original Humvee's (1986-body line) and would like to own one myself. There are several running around town in South...
...one more time...
If all else fails, contact a local towing/wrecker service. For a few bucks they will tow it to their secure facility and keep it for a week or two...depending on how long you take to get there. Also...since they have big trucks...they may be able to check the vehicle...
...suggestion for townies...
My duce (1970 Kaiser multi-fuel whistler) resides in front of my ammo shop...in town, parked where the nose sticks out just short of the side-walk. It's a landmark so people can see where the shop is....going 40 mph down the three-lane road. It helps that I'm zoned...
...important enough...
Believe this thread is of such importance that it needs to be 'BTT' (bumped-to-the-top). Hope there is a list coming for each section of the Country... East,South,North and West. That way the list could be made more manageable and easily put into print. I'll print them...
...also agree..
Remember...all were made to same specs...and the lowest bidder got the contract. Have had and pulled several M105's...Turtle,Stevens,Int'l. Harvester...you get the idea. All were the same and 'aged gracefully'. Have never seen a list of all the M105 Mfg's.,but believe there were...
...forget it...!!!
Forget about the duce....get that jeep before it is totally destroyed. Jeeps are worth much more than the duce's at this point. Keep the Harley...you just may need two-wheels if fuel gets stupid expensive. Duce's can go from a couple hiundred to over a grand at these...
