1. hand over hand the wiring looking for damaged cable or disconnected connectors(in and under left and right dash, behind grill around engine and alongside both sides of the transmission.
2. Follow all the battery cables and positively identify the ground, 12v and 24v cables. Does this...
Because of the natural and suspension cab movements, I am planning pass-thru doors on cab and Hab, but no tunnel. This will also allow me to more easily access the cab latch if necessary...
Oh hell, this is how it begins… All giddy optimism untill it arrives in your driveway then the reality of “OMG, What Have I Done” sets in…
You do have a therapist on retainer right?
Don’t turn to Alcohol, that path leads to the dark side…:)
Besides being shorter and simpler, The good thing about rail on rail with captured spring is that is spends 99.99% of its life with both rails in full contact with each other and 100 percent of the habitat weight distributed across the entire length of both chassis frame rails. I am forecasting...
From what I have measured with my chassis, i would have to compress the rubber axle bump stops ~1.5" before the tire rubber will pass above the top of the upper frame rail...
I think even without the upper frame, main frame twist is not going to be too bad. In the end frame twist is a factor of the weight applied, a habitat weight is probably going to be less than what the truck was built(over built) for. And even if it does twist, so what, that is why we use the...
it may also have been a commonality thing. They made the M1078 pickup, M1079 box truck, and the M1080 cab and chassis, with the M1080 being easily adapted to create a special purpose vehicle(rocket launcher, gun or AA missle vehicle) with the built in load distributing upper frame.
These...
I think the methodology of attaching at the rear of the frame is that the frame then acts like a spring allowing the whole box more overall movement instead of imparting more torsion thru the box or tank when heavily loaded.
but I see that as having drawbacks as well, as it stores energy...
I see no reason not to attach at the other end(front) and float the rear. either way is basically a 3 point attachment, with the front two points at each forward subframe end and the 3rd point shifts from rail to rail depending upon which direction the frame twists as one rail will push up on...
General hit on the biggest Achilles heel of these trucks, their gearing means highway speed = max governed engine RPM. Nobody operates road vehicles like this... The driveshafts are steep and large/heavy, and spin way outside what is normally acceptable on the angle/RPM chart. If you are...
I haven't seen that caution, but I haven't looked for it either:) Its a pretty significant chassis... You can damage drivetrain components if you do not prepare properly(pulling axles or driveshafts as appropriate to separate the AWD pathways).
I would suspect the towing operatorator will...
Our panel openings are a little different than those switch accessories are sized for. I had a dual volt display at one point and had to fabricate an adapter for it to fit…
Well thars your problem right thaar…
it may just be unplugged… depending on the proximity of the actuators, y0u may be able to simply swap the plugs and see if the fault switches from left to right(bad actuator) or doesn’t move(bad wiring/circuit)…
Correct. It should open the purge valve and maintain pressure on the port.
if you had a pressure leak on the compressor cylinder head, it would have trouble building pressure, and take a long time to reach cutoff/unload pressure in the wet tank, if at all… But once it unloads, the system...
Connect pressure to the purge port on the dryer.
The air exits the dryer thru a check valve to the wet tank. If that check were leaking your shop air test should show that. The system feeds air from the wet tank to the governor the governor monitors this air to control its cycling, and also...
The P/N shown in the 24P manual(parts 2 and 10 in the diagram) are I believe the meritor P/N. Type them into the searchbar in y0ur browser and it will take you to the merritor website as well as other suppliers
@GeneralDisorder yea I cannot remember if it was you or Superman I had the battery discussion with, but I recall it was a little involved. I do recall being involved in quite a few dead ECU conversations typically after prolonged service power removal, One key symptom with those was no check...
