That spring being bent shouldn't change the position of the steering wheel. This defantly "old school" but try taking a long string tied to hitch, exhaust pipe whatever then go around the center of one rear tire up to the front tire keeping the string close to the center of all 4 tires. What you...
Your on the right road but your kinda getting ahead of yourself, now that you know you have a problem you now need to find exactly where it is. To do that you need to start by taking some X measurement's from the same place on one side the repeating the SAME place on the other side. Lets say you...
Sounds like a cool and usefull addition, I was going to recommend an air drier but then noticed where your at. An air drier would be almost mandatory here in NY.
Please keep us updated as you go.
This is why I use never-seize when re assembling parts like this, yeah it's messy when you get it on your hands but 2 or 30 years from now you'll be glad you used it!
Yep, bottom of the backing plate there should be 2 knock out plates. Sometime they pop right out others not so much. If your like me sooner or later you'll run into an ajuster thats frozen up or shoes that are rusted to the drum, simple easy way to get them off. Just use a muffler cut off tool...
I used to think you went overboard doing head gaskets for 'no good reason' other than age. BUT I now admit I was wr er wro um mistaken! I have a 20,000 mile engine that's been sitting for awhile and decided I'd toss in a set of head gaskets and rear main oil seal before installing in the truck...

Cool pic porky! Heads or pre cups could be different but I really doubt it.
Garagefull, try adjusting the timeing, if nothing else do it by ear and if now better then you know I'm wrong. In the past I've loosened the IP bolts useing a long 3/8 extention slid all the way from the back under the...
I believe the sound differance that I've encountered was from the IP timeing, if the pump timing is advance a bit you get more power but go to far and it sounds like the engine is coming apart add in the cold advance and it gets REAL loud! Try unplugging the cold advance and see if that quiets...
That seems to be correct, the over load springs I had IIRC had two leaves above the spacer and the center bolt I THINK went all the way thru. But its been awhile.
