M116A3 Surge brake grenaded!
Damper took a hit too.
Hopefully I can unpeel this lot and see how it was originally made. May have to cut out the whole center and re-man it. Issue will be making it the correct size to engage the spring retainer.
I guess there's no "REPAIRING" the damper...
!st in line if you want to make more of the mod'd front valve covers!!!!! Please!
Very clear and pro presentation of your project. Thanks for this thread.
Not sure how I should reply... Apples and oranges, exactly the time to defend rights.... What?
Driving a Humvee amidst the Guard being on duty - not following directions when the director thinks you are part of a convoy or arriving somewhere where the Guard is expected but then not then being...
My wife does this job. Those boxes are homemade but offer some added protection, but they are all S**T scared as the hospital is about to get swamped by NYC transfers. Drs and respiration staff are getting hit bad.
Now is not the time to run around defending what your rights are. If you are...
Thanks patracy - does this mean that the multiple item lots can be discussed by PM if some one posts "I only need 1 - but there are 4 on the pallet"... Or the combination in a lot that someone "only needs the trailer and is looking for someone who wants the tractor" etc?
... and you know why? The AARP has too big a loby therefore wrinckleys will always be exempt.
There are at least 52 answers to this question, multiply by the number of other states you want to drive in, less the number of exemptions your state has as fasttruck said in post #6.
It's your a$$...
Found some 1 1/4 x 1/4 and some 3/4 bar stock. I tried it on the repaired leg and it actually worked quite slick - I made the female slotted end a pretty snug fit so no wobble when operating.... though the stowage design does not inspire much confidence for longevity.
Since it's only a repro...
Thanks for the info - Actually, for me, I was way off!! And if I had gone my route, there would have been skinned knuckles for sure! I will time the build to see what $$ it would cost to reproduce. The "R-pin" idea is pretty sad, so I am sure that there will be travelling losses in the future!
So - from your pics and the size of both; the handle stowage retainer (with "R" pin) [1/4 thick & 1" from pin center to leg - using your pic I didn't use below] and my hand (let's assume that is a reasonable guess, these are the dims that seem to scale. Let me know if this is close enough...
Yeah - I'm trying to figure out what the original handle looked like considering what room you have to operate it, where it would be when stowed and how it fits into the "R" pin keeper on the lower portion.... Pictures please existing owners!!!
Recent acquisition of former generator trailer - found mangled jack leg in the ground rod storage locker.
Nearly all of the individual components were bent, broke, distorted or combinations there of.
Bevel gear shaft was bent and distorted bushing housing on one side. Bigger hole was...
Scott - yes you are correct re using fixed hooks otherwise cable will unwind under load, then attempt to "birds nest" when paying out with load removed.
Thanks all for the info. Looks like I'll be needing a parking brake handle too - any thoughts?
Special shout out to Simp - good to meet him late last night. Did the pick up for me and got it to within 2 hours so saved me almost a whole day. Also got to see his M916 and M870 in action. Sure...
Just reprinted NY DoT form MV 274 - "Trailer type vehicles not requiring registration" that I'll take a copy of with me - all I have to do is pull off the tool box that is mounted on the front of the frame and throw it in the pickup.
Examples given:- generators, log splitters, welders, tar...
