Winch Disaster! Three Donkeyss hard at Work!

I'm generally stubborn and don't "need" directions when I'm lost, asssembling an entertainment center or trying to fix the lawn mower. However, I have books in hand when using the Deuce's equipment. I know when to have respect for the equipment I'm operating.

    IP Pump Calibration For Economy

I'm almost sure large diesel engines are different. On gas engines generally the first oil is ran for about two hours of unloaded break-in (on a stand or in a parked car). Oil is changed then and ran about 500 miles during easy driving and then again at about 2000 miles after normal, and some...

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

For some reason that just wasn't registering right in my head. It's clear now though. I wouldn't have any need to lift anything that far out, or high, anyway. I might make a 4 foot bar or so, on top of the bumper, that'd be more than I'd ever need.

Any progress on unnesting that winch foul up?

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

I don't have my TM handy (it's in the truck), can you expand on what that means?

Winch Disaster! Three Donkeyss hard at Work!

The winch was operated per the TM, I had it in hand for every step. I thought it was a band that locked the drum. I didn't rotate it so the pin could find a hole, that's what I was doig wrong. Thanks... Ok, I'm done derailing the topic, lol.

    is this anybody we know???

I'd love to have that truck! That's something I'd daily drive AND I could pack the whole family in to. I don't have $17k though.

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

Stretching loads are different than bending loads. Those my not be technical terms, but I'd be a little concerned using pipe for an A-frame. I'm no engineer either, so maybe I'm over reacting?

    Deuce as daily driver?

RE: Re: RE: Deuce as daily driver? If I could find a WVO source, I'd make more "alternative" fuel and drive my Deuce alot more often.

    IP Pump Calibration For Economy

Whatever is learned here, can it be applied to a LD or LDT motor as well? It'd be nice to get a few more mpg out of bobbed and modified trucks. I'd really like to have a bobbed Deuce for a daily driver if it got mid-teens for fuel mileage. I could fuel it for almost free then. I'm interested...

    Going through Water...

I offered my time and truck up to a group that helps families evacuate when the Ohio valley floods out here. I've been reading up on how to make my truck water friendly in a quick way as well. Not that it'll see but MAYBE once a year, but it'd be nice to have that luxury.

Winch Disaster! Three Donkeyss hard at Work!

I've only operated my winch twice and that was to undo the nesting job the PO had done. The other time was to drag a large piece of concrete out of the way in my yard. I had the TM in hand while operating it, but I think the "locking band" (?) failed after that last time. The drum won't stay...

    Insurance What To Do

Mine's not tagged yet, but I put insurance on it for the drive home. I pay just $21 or $22 a month for coverage through USAA. They didn't ask anything out of ordinary about the truck; just make, ID # and a couple other questions about the truck itself. They didn't ask it's intended usage or...

    Remote Brake Reservoir...Done.

Another good mod to make the Deuce more friendly to regular PMs.

International Title Service --- A+ SERVICE!

I thought I read on here somewhere that someone paid in the area of $200 to have it done. I was just wondering what it cost you to have the ITS work done. If it's less than $150, I'll probably go ahead and get my deuce licensed. It hasn't been on the roads since I brought it home, officially.

    Non-turbo Deuce...good or bad??

RE: Re: RE: Non-turbo Deuce...good or bad?? A guy I work with is looking at getting a Deuce, I'll turn him on to these. He'd prefer to buy from someone and have a truck that's road capable rather than buying from GL.

    Huge stash of Deuce parts

I'd definitely be interested in a bunch of the stuff, but I don't have anything to trade.
