One last question... Are those of you that have the H4 lights up high are you using the standard aiming procedures for H4 lights and then perhaps giving them an extra 1/2 turn down or...?
Thanks for all the responses.

I just looked at mine and the paint is actually pretty thin there due to an entire repaint after blasting by Uncle Sam.
No numbers visible. I may strip the paint to check but not tonight as rain is predicted.

I just measured my M35A2C cab. Against the dashboard the right to left measurement is 57 1/2 inches and against the back edge of the doors where they strike the opening the cab is 64 inches wide.
This is from the inside of the door over to inside of the other door.
The doors are 3 inches thick...
So for the owners with the H4 lights I assume that the upper postion is just fine for you guys (& gals)? You see a big difference when they are that high off the ground? I have been using them for 15 years or so in my M1009 and my son's CJ-7 and I love them.
Still waiting for my bulbs to come...
For the most experienced Deuce mechanics, is there a way to insert a small shim(s) around the clutch fingers and completely release all pressure on the throw out bearing?
If this can be done the bearing could be spun some by hand to check for looseness and obvious noise.
I would like to inspect...
Very interesting find. I did not notice anything here on my M35A2C but will look tonight and report back on this thread in the later PM today (barring rain).
The spot on my frame where the heat treat date and s/n are located for sure is the left front area just behind the steering gearbox...
I found this old thread and was wondering about the guys have installed H4 head lights.
I don not have the winch installed yet but I beleive that it would be advantageous to have the head lights in the lower position when converting to H4 head lights. One concern is the addition of the winch...
You have to remove the center pin in order to push the axle shafts in far enough to remove the c-clips.
There is a retaining bolt that holds the center pin in place.

Hey there irjet23 there is an 18 miles bridge and a 22 mile bridge.
Sorry for the potentially bad news although there is a really nice rest stop in between (Butte LaRose, LA). Completely rebuilt about 4 years ago. Cars on south of I-10 and big truck on north side of I-10.
I'm in west side of...
I want to thank everyone for their input.
I believe that I have enought information to make and informed decision
now and will procede accordingly.
Thanks so very much.

There are short and long injectors.
You have to find out what you have and then get the correct length plus thell them that it is military fuel pressure and they should be able to handle that.

I really really appreciate all the replies.
I was told at the NAPA store that there is a Lucas oil additiive for synthetic oils too so obviously that would be better for 100% synthetic oil.
I'm going to purchase a set of the spin filter adapters, change my oil, and go with the Lucas.
I did put...
A retired GM engineer told me that there were 88,000 CUCV series trucks
which includes all models totaled together.
This was back in 1996 before he retired.

I see where a lot of people are using this but did you actually add a whole gallon the first time around to the new oil?
Although this is a good product it is a little scarey (to me) to add that much to and engine on the first go-around that has never seen anything but pure oil before.
Am I too...
I would like to hear from the owner / operators of the Multifuel engines that use the Lucas additive in their oil and also in their fuel systems too.
I was at the local NAPA store and another truck owner came in and he swears by the engine oil additive for his diesels but they are more modern...
I have heard that some Marine M35's had locking or limited slip although I do not know for sure.
I would immediately lock the hub in until you prove the open differential installation for sure.
Good luck and please post your findings as this is something that most of us want to do too.

Beautiful truck that you have there.
For the oil being missing, carry a small can of new oil for shows and you can drip a little on the ground underneath the engine "Just for Show".
I was wondering about the size and the brand of the tires.
Only one other thing, those small , first generation...
