Helomedic,
Seems to me (based on imperfect recall from past tear downs) that if the engine block requires shims, there is a hard to find and read engraving on the block where the IP mounts showing the micro measurement so required shims can be determined. Many IPs have been removed with...
I agree. Too much theory and little practical documentation. My feed is 220 to both panels of a 400 amp panel setup. have had no problems. I'm only sending in my 002a';s meager 26 amps but that jewel runs all my 110, including well pump. 4,000 sf house which is managed conservatively in...
"It will be in Georgetown, Guyana".....Unless you are way up high, I would think manifold heaters and glow plugs would be the least of your concerns. They facilitate cold weather operations.

GMG Refurbishment Program | Green Mountain Generators

CT-Mike,
Don't buy too much capability. You will only waste fuel and, perhaps damage the unit if you can't load it sufficiently. 003a is great as is 002a. Both have more capability than is obvious. Take a realistic look at your true power needs and go from there.

Voltmeters fail frequently. Once you have put a multimeter on it and adjusted the throttle, don't worry unless the engine sound changes. Check often with your multimeter. Glad you came through in good shape.

Stan,
I'm really happy to learn she ran so well. Am sure you are too. Mine did also but only had "lights out" for a couple of hours. New shed really helped.
That long line of generators in my avatar is now down to two and they are in the new insulated shed.
If you need dc vr, let me know...
Not to be snide, but the time to do all the fuel and oil and filter maintenance was BEFORE you cranked the unit. Numerous posts here on how to deal with a newly acquired surplus generator.
I hope you did no damage. Am not sure what good a compressor will do you except spread crap to harder...
