Yard carnage is fixed already, it wasn't near as bad as Mangus's yard.
My Crane or Wrecker is whatever I call it! That way I always sound smart when I correct someone. Haven't used it as a wrecker, other than around the yard.
That trailer could work out, just need it here.

Yep, even the yukon guy should have his diff's checked for water. Front bearings for him should be okay since they are sealed.
I don't know about CUCV's, imagine some maintenance is in order.
Takes two days and over 60 dollars of lube to put my deuce in deep water. Front bearings are...
I took the 4 leveling jacks and spare and put them in the towing truck for extra weight. Towed it with a 3/4 ton truck and still wasn't happy with 5000lbs pushing me. Only way the trailer moves now is with the deuce towing it.
The brakes are really nice on these when hooked to a MV, it will...
Yes, you can pull the mainshaft while in the truck. Have to remove the jack/driveshaft to the transfer case, and pull the rear yoke and bearing retainer. The shaft can slid backwards enough to pick the front out of the case and slid it out. Don't rembember if the bearings are loose or caged...
That's some good use of the young'un. The daughter, 14, has driven the M108 crane around some, and the son has been driving the deuce since 8 yrs old. He drives off road now, shifting gears and all, he's 12 now.
Here's a video of him at 9 driving around.
Dennis...
I just mentioned the thread for getting them loose, didn't even think about the mod I had done. Hope they all pop out for you, I know some of them on the M108 were a real pain.

Have any pics of the stuck torque rods? Never mind, I saw one in the other thread. Like the jackhammer!
This is a thread I put up a while ago, shows some tricks I used to pop the rods loose...
It doesn't come with ramps. It does have 4 lugs on the rear, about 3 in dia inside. I have ramps that need cut down. Using a long 2" pipe, I can attach them to the lugs.
There's 30 miles between towns, and I just got on the 4 lane. Look at the gauge and thought, I better get fuel. Didn't want to turn around so tried for the next town. Missed it by 4 miles.
When I find some 11's I'll let you know Westy. I only need 15!
No way I'm breaking those bands. It's a big game of pick up sticks if you do that!
Singles do help on side slopes in the woods. But it's a fine line to find a place where singles make it through, and duals don't.
Don't remember what the 11's are rated at, but it was way over what the deuce...
Hauling wood again. 15,000lbs
Went on the annual wood hauling mission, using the new trailer and sides. 280 miles round trip. Only problem was my dumb butt running out of fuel. Not a big problem, Dad was driving separate, so now I have another 5 gallon fuel can.
Here's a link on the trailer...
Wanted to be able to haul loose firewood, and whatever else I could shove on the trailer. Welded some angle iron to the laundry trailer uprights, and added a center post with angle iron on the long side of the trailer. Now just stack 2x4's from the top, and insert a screw on the top board to...
Yea, you can stop 36,000lbs. Go around any corner and the road, and the entire front of the wrecker is trying to go straight, pushing the back of the deuce sideways. Would not take much for a jackknife to happen.
