Thought the slow ooze (no dripping) was coming from the filler or drain. Finally got a closer look - with my glasses on - and what I thought at first glance were casting "flash" turned out to be a series of cracks:
Question is, this one is from a 1992 model, is marked C15367. Model 18AM...
Thanks, I see those listed all over the place for around $20 a pair.
think I'll wait a bit on this decision, look for a good used bumper and rhino carrier, complete set.
No hurry.
D'oh! Meant 1-3/8. That popped up from someone else's post. 1-3/8 actually fits. Would probably need to get an impact tool up there, or use my FOUR foot breaker bar extension (the one I used to assemble FN-FALs way back when).
Drained coolant. Added prestone cleaner, ran engine for a bit then drained oil, changed filter.
Ran engine for another hour, drove for an hour, idled a little more. Will take it out tomorrow to drain/change fluids AND remaining hoses (did heater hoses when I fixed the heater months ago)...
A little off the main topic question: does the airlift bumper still allow use of the pioneer tool rack underneath?
A reference to the right manual for this would be appreciated if you know it off the top of your head.
Thanks.
Been out of town for a week, then worked, worked some more, first day off I've had to work on my truck.
Replaced oil dipstick tube (ch. 3-2, TM 9-2320-280-2).
Because it was leaking at the oil pain.
That's Freudian...
Anyway, oil pan. Took a CLOSE look and someone had wrapped self-adhering...
My experience with this company was stellar, buying a set of high back front seats, under hood jack housing and many miscellaneous parts on fleabay until I got mixed up ordering some insulation panels and requested a return for 4 items, which was part of the sales agreement, returns accepted, I...
I mostly use "Brave" browser. This is the one started by the guy who left Firefox 'cause he was outed as a supporter of California's marriage definition bill. He's "sticking it to the man." I don't see pop up ads, just the paid advertiser side bar for this site.
Bolted fabricated NMO mount to truck. Antenna is a Comet2x4 SR NMO w/spring. Ground plane's the entire truck.
Have a Kenwood TM-V71A with MARS mod. I'll get hooked up soon.
Also soaked left side exhaust manifold bolts with Kroil, ran engine, cooled, ran again in preparation for removing...
Getting some work done - gates, mending barbed wire fences, perk testing, surveying, on tuesday am, electric co weds am, then back to Maryland. Back in about 3 months to do driveway apron, clear out an acre for 30x50ft steel garage, more down the road.

A most excellent idea. I actually have some diamond tip burrs I could get in there to make a good flat-blade groove. Kroil, heat, kroil, heat, I'll get that thing out. After vacation. Heading down to our farm/retirement property in central Tennessee to do some surveying, camping, get a...
From what I could tell there's no real load-bearing on that bracket, it seems to have been left behind when the 60A alternator was installed.
The bolt is a double-ended stud with a hex nut forged in the middle. Idea is to clamp down the header and use the extension for the bracket...
Thanks. New to diesels, none of those symptoms happening.
Was hoping someone who'd had direct experience with this might chime in.
Stud is broken off at/below face of exhaust ports so welding's not an option, more concerned this will be a bear of a project getting a drill in there to clear...
Broken part is #18 on figure 36 or 38 of TM 9-2320-280-24P-1, goes between mounting bracket for 100 or 200A generator, does double duty holding down manifold AND a bracket which, although I have a 60A generator, is there.
Thing snapped off pretty much flush with the head.
I have some...
Home fabricated antenna mounting plate
Dunno, maybe it was out of boredom, or just the challenge of the thing, but I plan on putting a 2-band ham radio into the beast when it's more "road-worthy" (fuel system, mostly), something like a Kenwood VM-271 just 2M and 70CM and, while the 30-512MHz...
Don't think so.
My first thought (as a very low time glider, SEL pilot but with several hundred hours of crew time as a flight surgeon long ago) was the radius of curvature for that airport would have to be miles long to give enough "straight" runway to approach, touch down, hit the buckets and...
