    Air pack question

I think you can use short and long air packs together. I believe the SMARPI document specifies such a setup assuming an existing long air pack is going to stay. The PDF should be in the deuce TM board.

    M813 Or M35A2?

I love my M35A3 deuce, but if I chose my first truck again it'd be a M939 5-ton. They seem to have less issues and limitations compared to the deuces, only downside of the 5-ton I really see is the size, fuel efficiency, and weight of everything. I never hear about 5-tons being overloaded or...

    Transfer Case problem

Here are the troubleshooting steps in PDF format. Unfortunately the text can't easily be copied and pasted into a translator, so I hope you're able to manually type the text into one or know enough English (or have a friend that does) to get through them!

    Transfer Case problem

I think that's possible. If there are loose linkages and other parts, levers and slides may not be traveling as far as they should be and things may not engage properly. Is that possible with the driveshaft connected between the transmission and transfer case? I wouldn't have thought that...

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

It's been almost two weeks and the tires are still holding air, though this has been true for longer for the front wheels than the rear wheels since they were mounted first. I think I'll call them good and return the tools to their lenders (and add them to my tools-to-get list!). It's been...

    Vehicle history

If you could provide the serial number for the vehicle it might be in some of CARNAC's files here somewhere.

Found some cool pictures - M944A1 SEORTM

I was looking at these pictures from their source again and it turns out that this truck is actually listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Michigan. If anyone's serious about getting this machine I suggest checking there! I usually use the search term "military truck" on the Marketplace.

Found some cool pictures - M944A1 SEORTM

A rebound truck :ROFLMAO: I wouldn't mind an empty machine shop truck as long as it still had the generator. A blank slate means I could put whatever tools I'd want in it. You can run a lot of stuff on 35 kW 3-phase. To put it in perspective, a typical home in the USA uses 0.7-1.5 kW at any...

    Where to sell a M35A3?

This, but I manage to make uses up for it. I take it for some light grocery shopping, library runs, and do Craigslist/Facebook pick-ups. It's especially handy when I'm picking up something that's big and messy that I don't want to put in the minivan :) Any time I take it to a doctor or...

Found some cool pictures - M944A1 SEORTM

According to Olive Drab, the machine shop trucks had machining equipment like lathes, drill presses, milling machines, valve turning machines, sometimes air compressors and welding equipment. They all came with a PTO-driven 35 kW 3-phase generator, so you could run some pretty beefy electrical...

Found some cool pictures - M944A1 SEORTM

I was looking at truck stuff the other day and found some cool pictures of a M944A1 SEORTM (machine shop truck, Shop Equipment, Organizational Maintenance, Truck/Trailer-Mounted). I've never seen one of these with the doors open, and had no idea they even had deployable tent canopies. I'd love...

Front Axle Boots (Which One To Buy)

Those remind me of the plates that go on the steering knuckles of WW2 jeeps.

Front Axle Boots (Which One To Buy)

I think mine are worn out due to age. They're probably original to the truck and were never replaced, and I don't think the truck was taken off-road much (belonged to an Army Reserve mail terminal). Probably the most off-roading it saw was when I took it for a test drive in a field behind the...

Front Axle Boots (Which One To Buy)

I'm going to get zipper boots for my truck. If they're going to wear out so much, I might as well make the replacement easy! I'd love to learn how to make my own out of silicone rubber. The only thing is that I have no idea how to make a zipper version without resorting to adhesive.

Best M35 year and model ?

I'd go with a late 80s M35A2 or an M35A3 for the redundant brake system. Then it comes down to preferring a multifuel diesel with a 5-speed manual transmission, or a straight-diesel Cat with a 4-speed automatic. Between the two of those, I wonder which is more scarce

    Where to sell a M35A3?

I'd put it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, though Craigslist hasn't been my go-to lately nor does it seem popular anymore.

    Maryland Inspections and Registration Problem

I should've changed "when" to "if". I appreciate what Mission BBQ does for veteran and first responder organizations, but I can do my part to their direct benefit without having to visit a restaurant.

    Maryland Inspections and Registration Problem

It actually took me a couple days to realize what exactly you were talking about. Then I remembered that MD had somewhat recently passed stupid laws restricting FMVs from driving on public roads. Mission BBQ was certainly short-sighted in refusing to help FMV enthusiasts, but that's probably...

Compressor Truck in SoCal needs home to avoid Scrapper

I wonder if it would help to ping a mod to ask to move this thread to the Conversations board since not everyone visits the deuce board. Using that board I helped a 5-ton tractor wrecker find a new home after a local museum was considering scrapping it.

    Maryland Inspections and Registration Problem

This is absurd. @Ajax MD and some others have former military vehicles titled and road-legal just find in MD. I'm guessing the State Police didn't care that you already had more trucks road-legal in MD? I think you better get a hold of your state representative and explain that this is a...
