    Carc to Urethane

Thanks, that’s great info, I never knew that. I actually ended up buying a 2 part epoxy primer from Speedokote, they got me with the Trex picture. 😄

    Carc to Urethane

Someone suggested using an epoxy primer and then putting the urethane on top. Would an epoxy primer bond to Carc?

    Carc to Urethane

Yes but someone said Urethane has an issue over Carc so I’m trying to find a primer to go directly over Carc that would work and not cause issues 1-3 years from now.

    Carc to Urethane

But isn’t Gillespie supposed to be a kind of non-official Carc? I was told by someone else a 1 stage urethane would probably be good for a few years and then start to have issues, peeling and cracking due to it being chemical resistant, including urethane.

    Carc to Urethane

So I don’t mean to sound like I’m disregarding your info, it’s actually good to know for future projects but what would be the easiest way to paint over Carc with a 1 stage? Do I need to use a primer or would roughing it up be just fine? I know most people just rough it up to spray Carc again...

Peel and Seal Type Flashing for Sound Deadening

There’s actually a bed liner called that as well. Apparently people like dragons.

Peel and Seal Type Flashing for Sound Deadening

Actually there is such a thing but it’s ok to admit that as well. 😜

Peel and Seal Type Flashing for Sound Deadening

People use it for speaker setups all the time and it works well. My point is that the “professional” spray seems to be very thin, expensive and I have seen it chip. Not saying it’s the best idea but it’s probably not the worst.

Peel and Seal Type Flashing for Sound Deadening

I know my Alabama side is showing on this thread but has anyone used Peel and Seal flashing or the equivalent for sound deadening on the underside of the HMMWV body? I have actually used it instead of Dynamat and it seemed to work well. The alternative is a spray like Lizard Skin and that has a...

    Carc to Urethane

What prep work should be done going from Carc to urethane? Is there a certain primer I should use? I am planning on getting a 1 stage kit from TCP global and I want it to adhere well and last a long time. I may end up getting a 2 stage kit, it just depends.

Center Console - Alt to Fiberglass?

Ok thanks I’ll check the channel out. I’ve looked at a few videos, I think some will just need to be learned but it’s good to get a good knowledge base for common issues and mistakes.

    Reduce Rattles

I may get some lizard skin to apply, any idea if you have to use a certain primer before applying it over aluminum or Carc? I still have the wood over the tunnel, I am currently building a center console out of wood above it and then putting fiberglass over it, that should cutdown on a lot of...

    Reduce Rattles

I know, hmmwv’s aren’t supposed to be quiet but what have you guys found that helps make their noise more bearable? I just bought a roll of neoprene foam tape and applied it around areas on my seats and probably 1/2 of my rattles went away. It makes it a lot more bearable to drive around town...

Center Console - Alt to Fiberglass?

No, I’m making a very specific shape with multiple angles and compartments. That’s why I need something to layer on top to make it more solid and more impervious to water and paintable.

Center Console - Alt to Fiberglass?

Hey, I am trying to build a center console for my Hmmwv. I am making the structure out of wood but want to cover it so it looks more professional. Is there anything besides fiberglass that can be used to create a more professional look? Anything that maybe could be applied like a paste and...

    Hard Top Install/Removal?

Action explained that the original top uses different parts which I don’t have. I guess that leaves me with the aluminum version, I think you have to modify a few things but can use all the soft top components. I’ll just have to see if there is an easy way to remove it, it is aluminum so it...

    Hard Top Install/Removal?

Hey, I was wondering how hard it is to remove and reinstall the hardtop? I really want the ability to convert to a convertible but I definitely like the idea of never having to replace the top and just having a hardtop. I would assume there is less noise and you could coat the underside with a...

    Tailgate Parts

Where did you get the spacer that goes under the lower hinge? That’s the only part I’m lacking now.

    Tailgate Parts

I ended up getting a tailgate with the chains so I don’t need them anymore. Thanks.
