Ok, just to clear some stuff up. All my trucks are my personal vehicles titled in my personal name. I don’t accept outside work on people’s trucks The law provides that an individual (non dealer) can personally sell up to 5 vehicles a year. I have never sold a vehicle on the classified section...

Just FYI, the main reason I created the webpage was to take my stuff offline of SS so as not to abuse or take advantage of Steel Soldiers. That is why I haven’t been posting on the site. I respect and want to uphold the integrity of our hobby. David

Like many of you I have enjoyed buying/restoring/selling/trading CUCV’s over these last 13 years as a hobby. However, I now have a special needs grandchild and 80 year old dependent parents relying on me. My webpage has now been deleted. But I hope to keep a few trucks going every now and...

    Starter issue

Thanks. Yeah, I know nothing about the truck except it made it home 2 hours and I stored in the barn at midnight. I really only tried to restart after sitting for several months, could just be timing on the starter, good thing is I got it out and down to the shop where I can pull out the...

    Starter issue

Thanks, the starter looks to be stock GM style. Mostly I was wondering if it was operator error when I tried to start the truck on the unknown batteries which were low/weak and that’s what fried the solenoid on the starter? Thanks David

Ha! Well lots of reasons really, its actually worked out great to have my shop away from my house, as i don’t go over but maybe 4 times a week, but get much more work done alone in a more uninterrupted time. The shop is on a small farm we own and i am able to separate work and play. Thanks

1986 M1009 Blazer AC Install help

I have used the: http://www.vintageair.com/67-72chevygmcpup.asp with good success. The trucks I've installed them in have have had no problems over years of use. Biggest thing you can do to supplement the heat reduction in the interior is have your windows professionally tinted, this alone can...

    Fresh M1009 Southern CUCV Resto

It's the stock suspension, the tires are 33/12.50/15's. All that's needed to fit that size tire on the stock rims is a trim of the rear inside corner on both front fenders. Allowing the outside corner of the tire to clear the fender on full turn. David

No problem, Actually the steel patch panels that I have gotten from LMC have been very nice heavy gauge steel that fit decent. Considering they all need some form of massaging to work. They offer two types the original quality or the cheaper aftermarket replacement. David

Thanks! Between LMC and Rockauto you should be able to find most of the soft trim and replacement GM service parts, they are mostly all made in China, But they work fine. Look for parts that have the Official GM Restoration Parts logo those tend to be better quality. It's not a 69 Z28 that needs...
