    M35 Front Axle Seal Replacement

@V8srfun There is this stubborn belief that grease "flows". That leads to people packing cavities with grease, thinking that a bearing or joint within that cavity will, over time, become lubricated by this "extra" grease. It won't. That is why you see hubs and axle housings full of grease...

    PTO powered hydraulic pump for...everything?

As someone said in another thread: Anything can be fabricated, given time and money. You would likely look at a rear facing PTO add on to the winch PTO in order to run a hydraulic pump. Not sure if simply removing the winch drive shaft gives enough space for a good mounting location in front of...

The weak rod bolts (regular hex head) were in the past credited for many connecting rods escaping to the outside of the engine block. The recommendation from many threads on this forum has been to drop the oil pan and replace them with the stronger 12 point ones, available for Oliver/White...

    Rear trunnion wear

Perhaps ask a machine shop if they can weld up and turn the damaged area. Depending on what shops you have in your area, that could be more reasonable and quicker than replacing. Also, if the trunnion is toast and your heart is not attached to THIS truck, perhaps sell to/swap/trade with...

Ah, so the drum stays dry - no coolant comes out when you open the large cap. So this is like an oversized electrical coolant heater with a removable electric heater cartridge that does not work well and is impossible to find. Too bad, I liked the coffee maker theory!

Congrats on your truck! I don't drive mine in the winter, so I don't have any preference to share regarding a block heater. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

They will run without the in-tank pump if the rest of the fuel system is airtight and good, however, the in-tank pump is there for a reason. The booster pump attached to the injection pump is not supposed to get zero intake pressure. Some members have replaced a bad in-tank pump with an external...

The sudden loss of power can be fuel filters clogging. If the truck sat a lot, crud may now be coming loose. It can clog even new filters quickly. Yes, it can feel as if someone is pulling the shutoff. Sluggish turnover although it normally does start well...batteries are sulfated (good voltage...

My 5 cents on the cab cover: Before you put the cab cover back on, use a large screwdriver to clean and gently widen the channel/track that the cover runs in. Spray the channel with silicone spray. Flip the cab cover upside down on the hood (i.e. inside facing upwards). Insert the plastic strip...

    Bobbed deuce speed

The topic of rpm has been hotly debated over the years. There are plenty of LDT engines that were wound out for every shift, run at the governor at 2500 rpm endlessly and they live to see another day. There are other LDTs that grenaded and ended up with a hole in the block. Who is to say that it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

@92ramaro I am looking forward to your driving experience with an automatic locker in the steer axle. I always thought that a steer axle locker needs to be selectable (air or electric); the automatic Detroits, Yukons, Grizzlys etc. are fine in the rear, I guess one can learn to adapt the...
