    Looking for a LSSV

I’m looking too! Haha I know there was a guy in Europe that had an extended cab with less than 100k. Good condition. I believe he wanted 25k and that included shipping to the states

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I’m putting this project to the side unfortunately. The rust is worse than I thought. I was looking in between the panels underneath. I would never be able to remove it all. And financially I don’t think it’ll be worth it anymore. THIS TRUCK WILL NOT GO TO THE SCRAP YARD THOUGH. Gonna save it...

    M1010 box on a M1008

I’ve thought about sealing off the door to the rear of my M1010 but it’s a feature that’s grown on me over the last year I’ve had it. It’s so convenient. I can easily hop in the back to grab something if need be. So personally, I would advise keeping the walk through. I can snap a ton of...

    Bumper mount tire carrier?

I plan on making a custom swing out tire carrier. If you plan on making one as well, then this kit off amazon is a staple for any fabrication you plan on doing. Has the most important part, the hinge. And the reviews are pretty positive. Actual has a bearing in it. DIY4x4 has a bumper with a...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I was having issues uploading them! But here they are. I might be able to use the steering column too! We will see. Plus it comes with a 4L80E. So far these are the parts I'm going to take of the 2500: 1. Exhaust manifolds 2. Intake manifold and plenum assembly 3. Turbo and air filter setup...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I appreciate it. I ended up ordering a new ignition actuator with key from LMC.

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I'm such an impulse buyer. I was surfing govplanet and a 94 2500 6.5 turbo diesel went up for auction in PA. About 5 hrs away. It had the turbo and serpentine system intact and a like new exhaust on it. Listed as a non runner, so it's a gamble. And it just so happens, I'm a gambling man. I...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

Been reading over the stickys and helpful threads. So much info. Also managed to print the entire maintenance Manual. So many pages but I prefer paper manuals over PDF files. So the headlight harness popping fuses issue will hopefully go away with the LMC heavy duty harness I just bought. We...

I have too Many CUCV's and Parts

If you were closer to VA I would try to take the m1009 off your hands!

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

So today I took my 2/0 cables off my M1010 and installed them on the M1009. I cleaned the 24v bus, grounding bus, glowplug relay, and 12v bus. Wire brushed them back to clean metal and reassembled. Checked the fuse panel and found 4 burnt out fuses. And when I hooked everything up the lights on...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

you and I think alike!!! I have those exact battery terminals on my M1010. Going to switch them over tomorrow. Just temporarily. See if I can get the M1009 started. And if it fires up, I’ll go ahead and make another set. Posted some pictures in the post above.

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

You are absolutely right. I usually don’t skimp out on battery cables, i shouldn’t have tried to cheap it out. I was just trying to fire up the truck without spending any money on new material. I learned my lesson! Here are a few pictures of my M1010 battery cables I made myself. I have a...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

YIKES! Looks like we have the same issues. I gotta redo the wiring and put a more permanent solution together.

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

Perhaps. But the starter sounded strong and it was whipping that engine up. I need to buy another parts cucv and scavenge some parts together. Who has a cucv they wanna sell? Haha

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I noticed when I turned the key forward the dash lights never came on. Couldn’t turn the headlights on. Voltage gauge never had a reading. But I could turn the heater fan on though. So there’s power. I kept moving the shifter on the column back and forth and playing with the glow plug toggle...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

Well I’m out of ideas. I got the wires right, fixed some grounds, put brand new batteries in it, and then turned it over for about 20 seconds. Then, a mini explosion and sparks everywhere! I practically melted down the entire negative post on my rear battery.. and it’s brand new. This $500...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

As I was replacing these wires I noticed the link between the 24v bus and the ground looked pretty cooked? Can I take this off? I’m exactly sure what it does? I was looking at the TM and it listed it as a “suppressor”. Also there is a copper lugged green and black wire on top of it and they are...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

I had some left over stock cucv battery cables from when I upgraded my M1010 electrical system. I’m gonna post a few of the roasted M1009 cables first and then a few ones I’ll be replacing them with.

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

Got around to pulling the Keyed actuator out of steering column. I can tell somebody has been in this column before because of a few tool marks, broken pieces of plastic and a missing lock ring. Anyways, I should be able to grab the piece of metal behind the actuator and move it with pliers. We...
