Started the Deuce yesterday after an afternoon shower and blew wet tiny black specks all over everything.
I'd like to weld a fitting on the bottom of the pipe and install a drain plug. Anyone know why this won't work?
Anyone know how many hours the Deuce would idle on 50 gal fuel?
After the power outage here in N. Alabama, I thought it might be nice to add a 24VDC to 120VAC power inverter.
Please understand- I'm not talking about using the Deuce as a generator. I'm also not talking about running anything...
I think this is some sort of servo valve and has to do with the manifold pre-heat system, but I'm just not sure. I need you help, experts!
Fuel is dripping out of this (see pic). The closest I could find in the TMs is a fuel servo having to do with the manifold pre-heat system. I think it says...
There's a guy out in Gurley, AL that has 15 M35s, 1 M36 and some sort of big trailer (don't know much about those). His name is George Wertz.
Anyway, from what I gather his wife is getting a little "put out" with him, so I said I'd post some pictures here to see if I could generate any interest...
Never mind- the link is busted...
Says it's an OT/ 810 halftrack.
Here's a picture of it in the completed phase:

I replaced my weird- acting air governor with one from OD Iron (a D2) and now my air pressure acts even stranger. Before it was steady, but constantly at 120 psi. Now it slowly builds to about 100 and then drops off rapidly if I engage the front axle or if I even have to brake alot. It tends to...
I replaced the old Midland air regulator with a new D-2 reg. Started the Deuce and built air just fine. Pulled it into the driveway (after warming up for 5 min) and the air warning buzzer went off.
I used the brakes quite a bit getting the deuce out of the back yard, but still, that doesn't...
Well I managed to break two bows on the back of the deuce. Snagged them on a guy wire off a telephone pole (duh).
So I go visit a childhood friend (Randy Carlin) that runs a cabinet shop here in Huntspatch to ask if he can custom-cut some new uprights for my bows.
He did and they are beautiful-...
ALERT! I'm not going. I no longer own "Tinkerbell". Someone made me a good offer on her and she's gone. If you want to Convoy over to GA, it's entirely up to you now.
I'm trying to get a thread started for forming convoys for the GA rally this October.
I posted a poll to see if anyone else...
My compressor has started to cycle on and off rapidly. Looks like I stilll have plenty of air according to the gauge. In fact, it reads almost 120!
Couldn't find anything in the TM about rapid compressor cycling, so I'm assuming it's about to bite the dust. Also getting a thin film of oil on my...
So I drive the Deuce 3 hours back and forth to pull 4 trailers to the RV park (talk about tedious). Next day I start Tinkerbell up, put her in gear and get a grinding noise while engaging the clutch. It goes away as soon as the clutch is fully engaged. I drive it to the house to start work on it...
I installed the half-axle and a lockout hub on the center axle on the driver's side. Now on occasion it feels like the clutch slips and re-engages when turning sharply right (only right). Anyone else have this happen
I was well on my way to changing the primary fuel filter when I noticed it has the same canister installed as the secondaries. Is this a fairly common field mod? It makes sense to me from a logistics standpoint 'cause you only need the one type of fuel filter.
BTW, I went to drain fuel out of it...
After the ice storm cave-in on Tinkerbell, I decided to rebuild my bows. The uprights are no problem. The curved bows seemed daunting until I remembered laminating some curved pieces for my Bellanca fuel tank covers.
All you need is some really good waterproof glue like Elmer's woodworking...
So, I'm pulling into the Super Safe Storage when the compressor starts cycling on and off rapidly. I wait 5 min. shut down, drain the air tanks (something's leaking air BEFORE I open the valves!) and black oil comes out with the air.
My best guess is that's compressor oil and I'm screwed- scored...
The M35A2s posted online somewhere in the universe says they're in Louisiana. So... what are the odds these have been immersed in salt water from Hurricane Katrina? The winch cables are pretty durn rusty...
Finally got the 2009 Veteran's Day Parade pics downloaded.
If interested, they are here:
