Looking for a reference Pinz in the SE of the US. Georiga

A neighbor is looking to get a pinz and I'd like him to get some seat time and walk around time on one before he buys one possibly from Europe. Does anyone have one in the South East (Georgia) that you'd not mind showing a prospective buyer around in?

    CAIMAN BAE/S&S MRAP electrical issue

Hey guys, I'm helping a local PD out with their MRAP. Some dufuses tried to jump it off and now it's presenting a problem. The basic problem is this: While running (parked or driving) the dash indicator lights/gauges will power off as if a breaker was failing and then will reset. The vehicle...

    Ultimate Brake Fluid Reservoir

I've been rolling around the idea of a replacement brake fluid reservoir for my truck. I'm finally fixing the air pack which has been spitting BFS out of the vent line on the firewall and I've been pondering this idea again. The idea I have is this: 1. Metal reservoir, fits on the firewall in...

    NK0242-72's Build Thread (Rmgill's deuce)

So, as several other members have some build threads on their trucks and folks seem to find those ideas interesting and useful, I figured I'd start my own here. I have a bunch of thread of piecemeal things I've done over the years, so I guess I'll see about re-posting those here or referring to...

    Red Footwell lights

When I added my rear facing work light for backing up and hooking up, and my front facing driving lights under the bumper, I rigged up a 3 position switch cluster under the dash to the left of the driver's knee. I knew I'd be adding something else so I left a spot for one additional switch...

    Odd Transfercase/Front Axle behavior/noise.

So my neighbor has a newish deuce that was taken out for a bit of a spin in the snow and ice this week, it wasn't driven much and he's still getting to know how to use some of the features. When he was putting it to bed, using the air-shift he noticed a very severe clanking coming from the...

    Tire Report, G177s

So, I've been running G177 1100x20" tires since just before the Ga Fall Rally. I had the tires there and they did very well off road. On road, they bounce a bit at about 30-40mph, but steer like the front end is on snot. Oddly, it tracks very precisely now, almost twitchy. There may be a...

    Securing a HMMWV

So, in working on this friend's slantback, we've been discussing how to secure it. Key Switch is in hand for install. I've suggested he purchase a battery cut out switch. We've discussed locking door latches. That still leaves the slantback hatch and tailgate. What's the ways folks have...

    HMMWV Glowplug Diagnosis

So a neighbor has a friend who has one of the USMC/FMC batch M998s. He brought it over for a party Saturday night and left the ingition on overnight. Connected to a slave cable, the engine would turn over but never start. Smoke told me it was getting fuel. I've never diagnosted a HMMWV before...

    Best place to mount antenna

So, I'm trying to get some forwards progress on my Deuce Radio kit. where to mount the Antenna. I'm thinking I'd like to do a mod of a MX-6707/VRC antenna base as the foundation. Where to mount the antenna though? Front Bumper? Fender? Back of the Cab or Front of the bed? thoughts? I'm...

    1100x20 G177s on a Deuce...

So I've just finished putting the set of G177s on my M35A2. What a difference. Steering is easier, way more traction and the ride is clearly a touch softer. 60 PSI on the rears. 90 PSI on the fronts. Steering is a bit more touchy and probably doesn't have enough understeer but it's not bad...

    Brake hose upgrades?

I'm going through my M35's axles right now working my way forwards on general servicing and such and I've been thinking that I want to replace my brake hoses with units from the Aero-quip shop. Steel braided lines would I think be tougher and better long term. Any thoughts on these? Obviously...

    G177 Tire Pressures?

What temperatures do folks suggest I run the G177 Radials I'm fitting to my Deuce? I've looked at the tables and the rims seem to have a lower pressure range than the tire's recommended pressure does. 120PSI is what Goodyear lists. Should I run that or lower?

Anyone got a source for these? Or do they only come with the valve stems?

Rear Facing PTO on the Transmission what to run off it?

Ok, so my duece has a double output PTO. Winch on the front of course and the rear facing PTO which is currently doing nothing. I'd like to start planning a dump bed and possibly a light K-BOOM crane. I may end up going with a smaller type crane having spoken to Squirt Truck about the...

I've been contemplating a set of lights on Mirror Brackets for forwards facing and more downward tilting illumination in addition to the road. Anyone have any suggestions?

    The Humber Mk IV...

So, as some of you may know, about 7 years ago myself and two friends jumped into an armored car restoration project. A dealer in the UK, Chris Wilkinson, who has now passed away, had a small set of about 6 Ex Portugues-Ex-British Army Humber Mk IV armoured cars. WE bought the last one for...

    East Bound Deuce on I20?

Who was that I saw east bound on I 20 with what looked like the contents of their entire garage (canoes to table saws) in a deuce/M105 and with a pickup following behind? I was in the little silver Honda that honked and waved emphatically as I passed you.

    M871A2 on an M52 ???

Autocar's post of his customized M871 got me looking at these for our WWII collector's groups transport needs. I have a question about the compatibility of the M871 and the Military 5 tons. The M871A2 manual (TM 9-2330-386-14&Plists this as a factor: Any Idea what sets the M871A2s apart...
