Just doing a quick check in for all of the Gun Truck followers. The owner of the Replica "Ace of Spades" and original crew member Sam Seay passed away yesterday at 67.
Anyone ever change out the horn wire in the column of a 5 ton??? Not noted in my manual that I can find. Had it apart and I believe the only way now is to undo the clamp at the box and the panel and slide the outer sleeve back with the steering wheel removed???
Can someone do me a favor and take a picture of the correct shift plate for the ENDT-673???? ahhhemmmm AMGeneral.
Mine has a direct drive MF plate in it and I want to make sure I install the correct one.
Any of you have a black vinyl seat cushions in your gondola??? I am interested in the back cushion and if a part number is still visible.

Veterans of the 359th Trans Co Association will be heading north from Knoxville TN to Bunkerhill IL in a week. I will have a exact date and route planned shortly. If anyone allong the way could offer support if needed, that would be great. They should be ok as the truck is in great shape...
I would just like to share the news that the GT UNTOUCHABLE is under new ownership and will be headed to its new home to Bunker Hill IL in a week. It was purchased from a 523rd Trans vet who served on EVE OF DESTRUCTION and he ran it to several events through 2013 and had a blast doing it. So...
You guys got a nice spot here on the SS board. Very informative and lots of good threads. I will make sure that I check in more often. Maybe one day I will own a M-135 or finally pull the trigger on a M-34 project.
A G744 guy looking for a home in a 900 series 5 ton world.aua
I tried to search for the thread but to no avail so here I am posting. Who was it that installed new Torque rod ends and had one fail within a month of installation. It was said that there was a bad batch made. Who made them??? I need to purchase a few and I want to stay clear.
Since there is no "History" section on SS, its probably fitting to put it here within this section of what today represents.
A couple of years ago in upstate NY, some of you SS members were fortunate enough to attend and you might have got to see what this date today is. Here is a link to a...
Due to the difficulty of finding information and helping others with this series of trucks, I have attempted to try and persuede the "Powers to be" to separate this group from the Post Vietnam Section.
It needs to be understood that these trucks were built with 50's technology and went through...
One of my fellow SS and local MV club member has been hounding me to start this thread. For a long time I have said that I am not doing this for the SS membership's entertainment. Recently I have changed my tune on this for now as maybe some might learn a few things about historical...
I am collecting a database for "Known trucks that served in Vietnam". By doing this, it might narrow down the possibility if your 5 ton was in Vietnam.
If you want to be apart of this and be notified if a truck comes close to yours, send me your hood number or serial number and I will add...
Can I ask for what reason is the M-54 series trucks in this thread section of post Vietnam??? I can see that the 800 series be here because of the cummins engine. But the early M-54 had the Gas and multifuel and Mack engine and these were Vietnam or earlier. I think us older truck owners...
Hey all,

Worst case, I...
Anyone had a good result with this?? I would imagine that the 800 series would be the same.
When I had my M-54 brought home, we used a dump truck with a load of stone. I was told that he put on the stone to help weight the truck down so the M-54 would not control the ass end when it...
