I am looking for a mechanic in North Georgia (Pickens County) who would be willing to travel to my home, inspect, adjust and bleed my brakes to diagnose no pedal after sitting for abut 3 years, and possibly rebuild the airpack or master cylinder as required. My thinking is it is probably the...
I am getting older ... but I'm almost certain I remember reading somewhere that the M35 could be loaded ... stacked two high, one on top of the other ... in ships and a/c. As I recall, this was the reason for the fold down windshield, the 2 piece exhaust and soft top.
I've been searching the...
My M35a2 has had high oil consumption since I bought it 10+ years ago, about a quart in hundred miles. The engine starts and runs great, idles fine and has plenty of power. No odd noises. It does smoke, black smoke, on the road, but not much sitting still. It smokes more than some but not...
1. I am repairing a 2 part hard top for my Deuce. Checking the maintenance diagram, I see that there are 2 seals needed to do the install. They are numbers 7 and 17 in the diagram below. The prices I've seen run to $149 per each. I think I'd rather make my own. Does anybody know how wide...
The top on my deuce is pretty bad and I'd like to replace it. I've been away form the forum for a while, so I don't know whats up. I see there is a soft top in the classified ... but its tan. Is there now a way to paint these tops?
If not, does anybody know where a green, or 3 color camo...
Hey ... long time no see.
I'm trying to give a young Air Force Captain, and fellow Steel Soldier, a hand with a thesis he is writing on the hyper-cycle multi-fuel engine.
I know that either Popular Science, Popular Mechanics or Mechanics Illustrated did a pretty big article on the 465LTD when...
OK … I’m stumped. And after 3 days, more than a little frustrated.
6 weeks ago my Deuce was running great, except it was “making oil” in the oil pan. My wife had her hip replaced … so I let it sit for the 6 weeks. I was coming up on my annual maintenance so I figured I just do...
I've done a bit of searching, both here and on the web, but I can't seem to find any answers to these.
1. Does anybody have any idea if the removable steel hard top was part of the original design workup or was it an after-thought add on? If the top came after the first Deuce's were built ...
For what its worth.
Recently, I have been disassembling a LDT 465 to determine the cause of its broken cam shaft. Interestingly, this engine has been run for one year on a WMO blend. I have determined that this camshaft failed due to worn cam bearing and that its fuel did not enter into the...
LDT 465 Multifuel broken cam. Andy3's M35A2
A couple months ago, Andy3 posted that the multifuel engine in his M35A2 had died on the road. He heard a “thump” and that was it. The truck was towed to 73m819 (Ron)'s shop who found that the engine had broken a cam shaft.
This truck was...
I am finally getting to the fuel projects I have planned for my truck. Driver side tank, upgraded spin-on fuel filters and external fuel pumps.
I'm planning on removing the in-tank pump & screen and replace it with a steel pickup tube.
I would like to plumb in some sort of garbage filter...
Does anybody know a source for the vinyl material used to make the covers for M105 trailers? I'd like to find the same material if I could and in the same solid green color.
I planning a camper project and I would like to avoid cutting up a good cover or even a ripped one that somebody else...
I've been processing and running WMO in my Deuce for some time now. I've been on a tight budget, so I've cut corners where I could. I had high pressure lines made up but have been joining ever thing together with 3/4" black pipe and fittings.
I work VERY hard and VERY carefully and never have...
I always admired the guys that flew low and slow over Vietnam ... just LOOKIN' for trouble ... and givin' their all to help out the guys on the ground. The Cessna L-19/OE-1 Birddog couldn't be more aptly named. No hunter ever had a more fearless, reliable and ready companion.
This is not...
I'm painting Henry over this spring break and I'm using the Behr paint that everybody seems to be using.
I'm figuring that I'll put on 3 or maybe 4 coats ... going on the idea that many light coats are better then a couple heavy ones.
I'll be spraying the paint on.
Any idea how much time to...
How does one determine if they have the old style head gasket or the new style head gasket ... without pulling the heads? Is there a way?
I got as creative as I could imagine with a search and couldn't come up with a clear answer.
I DID see that the new style gasket can NOT be re-torqued, but...
I replaced my front shocks today with the Monroe's that everybody seems to be using. No probs with the installation.
I found some part numbers on the old set. The shocks were Gabriels. The stamping reads (from top to bottom):
7539007
651002
Gabriel of Canada
Made in Canada
T8071
The P/O...
I'm looking for downloadable pdf. copies of:
FM 10-67-1 Concepts and Equipment of Petroleum Operations
and
FM 10-67-2 Petroleum Lab Testing
I think these two manuals may have information useful to the alternative fuel user.
I know that Scribd has them ... but I am uncomfortable with all...
irony [ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-], noun. That quality which is inherent in speeches or a situation of drama that is understood by the audience but not grasped by the characters.
Yes. That's my arm.
The imprint is from the (hot, VERY hot) muffler of my oil pump's engine.
No. A larger sign...
Anybody got experience with the various 24 VDC to 12 VDC & 24 VDC to 110 AC converters/inverters that are on the market?
Are there better/worse ones to buy out there?
My summer session has classes that I can only attend at a campus that is 1 1/2 hour one way from my home ... and since the...
