Wasn't the M3A4 more of a hand cart with a fixed position axle? This is built for some weight with the coil spring set up.

Thanks for the nice compliment. We love our FJ60s around here! As for the trailer; I don't think it's home built, just looks to well engineered. The axle is a sort of torsion bar with twin horizontal coil springs, there are faint USMC markings on the tool box, the land gear fits perfectly...
