Replacing Deuce air tanks/Hints and Suggestions please.

I took my '73 M109A3 for a spin on Memorial Day and when I returned to my house, cooled it off and shut it down I heard an air leak. Crawled underneath and realized I had a pinhole in one of my tanks. Rather than gamble on take outs, I got 2 NOS tanks. I searched the forums and didn't find...

    M109A3 Floor Tile-Bad idea?

I did use the search function and didn't get any hits so here goes. I am thinking about using ceramic floor tile in the box of my 109. I have the opportunity to buy some 24x24" tiles at a good price, and I would like the convenience of being able to mop out the back. My fear is that the box...

    Remote Brake Reservoir-Junkyard substitutes?

Did some searching and didn't find anything although I seem to remember a mention of it before. I may have some time this week to go to a junkyard and do some searching for a receiver hitch for my deuce and I thought I'd try and find a suitable remote brake reservoir. I know there are ones...

    Neighborhood problems? Hide your deuce.

Here's what I did to keep the neighbors happy. Funny thing is, I've had 5 people ask me where my truck is, two of whom are friends who walked down the sidewalk into the house. I've had no problems with complaints and we don't have a HOA. The shot of the jerry can is to show how I have it...

    Michelin 11.00x20 tire pressure

My 109 came with 11.00 x 20 Michelin XL's and the sidewall says to inflate them to max 115 psi. Since I will not be running the truck at neat the max load rating, I thought I would drop them back to 90 psi. I see where others are running them at 75 or even 60 psi. Anybody with long term use...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints-Regrets?

I'd like to start this thread as a kind of parallel to the Latex/Acrylic paint thread. I understand if the Admins think of it as unnecessary/duplicate and feel free to delete, but to me it stands on its own. What I'd like to know is how many SS members wish they hadn't done the house paint on...

Got to take a teaser ride in my new (to me)M109A3-

I got to inspect and take the deuce for a short spin last week on my way back from working out of state. Won it out of Warner-Robins on 7/28, finally got my EUC about two weeks ago, and with the help of a super SS member got it off base and stored. It cranks (jump started-bad batteries)...

need m109a3 towed/stored from Warner Robins

Just got my Paid in Full notice on the M109A3 I won back on 7/28. I live in St. Augustine, Fl (300 miles one way). Optimally I would like someone to tow it to their place where the truck could be assessed and I could do required maintenance and repairs. I understand from members that the...

    M38a1 + M100 length?

I was just given a tandem axle trailer and was curious if any body who has an m38a1 and a m100 trailer hooked together could do a quick measurement for me. I would like to know what the length is from the forward edge of the front tire on the jeep to the back edge of the tire on the trailer...

Does this mean what it looks like it does?

I just got a letter from Battle Creek reminding me about not selling auction winnings to terrorists and I was looking around SS to see what this might indicate as far as how much longer I'll be waiting. From the search results it sounds like it shouldn't be too much longer. BTW, this is my...

Anyone check out the M109A3 @Warner Robins on 7/28?

Hi All, I am a newbie here and violated rule #1 ie. didn't inspect the truck before I bid. Was wondering if anybody checked it out (event 10038-lot6018 ). Description said it would run with a jump. I'm 300 miles away in St. Augustine, Fl. I'm a first time EUC applicant so who knows when...
