Need help identifying an air brake cylinder on a BAE Caiman MTV MRAP. No part numbers visible...one went bad. Brakes locked up. Any ideas appreciated. Right side, rear wheels.
Also some "things" mounted next to the seats in the rear compartment.
Found this fried control module in the old system. Figures, I was having some issues.....didn't realize this! Replaced everything with the new parts and she is running like a top now.
I have done several searches and I have a few questions:
I have a M35A3 that I am going through headlights like crazy on. At first, from the searches I have done, I suspected a possible ground problem. I have been through the wiring and everything seems fine. Voltage, grounds, etc.
I then...
My local Police Department is hosting a car show on August 16th that's called "Cruising for Crayons". There is no entry fee, but they ask that anyone wishing to show their vehicle bring school supplies, which will be donated to various local schools for children that need the items. You can...
Did a lot of tinkering today. Mounted the radio, took off the top, did some maintenance. These are really neat vehicles. I think I need to align the front end. I have all new ball joints in the event I need any. I have brand new Firestones, so I want them to wear properly. I doesn't pull or...
Curious if anyone has added rear seat belts to a non-ROPS equipped M151A2?
My kids are bugging me for a ride, other than around the block. I'm not comfortable with that without some type of restraint. Would only be used for short drives, maybe to the local car shows, etc, no highway use.
I...
I picked three of these up at Fort Dix while I was out that way today. Look like decent units. Haven't tried them yet. I need to get batteries for them, perform some maintenance, and fire them up!
I am planning on servicing my wheel bearings this summer. I've been reading the TM in regard to this. I'd hate to smoke one of these pricey bearings....ouch! It's a little out of my skill set so I'm seeking some expert oversight from some mechanics nearby :) I don't have any leaks or anything...
I received my historical plates. Curious as to where others have placed theirs on the M151. Ohio is a two plate State, so I have to mount front and rear plates.
I have been driving my Deuce and 151 without the plates mounted. I just bring them and proof of insurance. Need to get them on the...
I've been tearing through my M151A2 learning everything that I can, reading the TM's, etc. I have everything working as it should except one thing... The windshield washer fluid won't squirt out onto the windshield. I have verified that the lines are not plugged and nozzle assembly on the hood...
I picked this one up at Fort Dix, NJ and drove it 400 miles (8.5hrs) to Ohio. Ran like a top at 55MPH and didn't burn a drop of oil. Stopped frequently to check everything. It's going to join the other 3 already in the fleet after some paint work. I don't think the aluminum body was prepped...
Anyone have a source for the clamps that hold the rubber portion of the fording snorkel on the intake and the snorkel itself? Looking for original parts.
Can't wait for the weather to break for some driving!!
This one is uncut and really solid. The shovel and ax obviously are not original. It also comes with the doors and some spares. It's a 1969 according to the data plate. Brand new tires. Runs and drives great (although it was a cold test drive today 28 degrees!). No ROPS, but I may add that...
I'm looking at a couple of M151's. One is uncut and pretty well restored, although the passenger floor pan was repaired. The other was cut and repaired and in a lot less condition. I just started looking at these, so I do not know much about them. It a cut jeep ok provided it was put back...
FYI....if anyone has been contemplating a block heater as I have been.
I stopped at my local Caterpillar service center today and picked one up for $57. It's an aftermarket model "Hotstart" that Cat sells as a replacement for theirs.
It installs in the freezeplug on the right side of the...
