That appears to be a Natram Generator Interlock (natramelec.com) . I installed one of those down at my barn/shop service entrance years ago. Works quite well.

I think its considered a sort of AC Power Filter... not 100% sure though. If you were thinking about finding one & replacing you better sit down... That little electronic brick with windings in it goes anywhere from $200+ to $400+ shipped. To me... that's a good incentive to go the SX460...
