Gillespie 383 tough enough for under chassis?

I'm to the point on my project to start prepping the under chassis for paint. Is the Gillespie tough enough to use on the under carriage or should I go for something like POR-15 or Eastwood's chassis black? Thoughts?

    Engine paint question?

I'm looking for ideas for engine paint on my military Mustang project, its a big block 460. I drove HMMWVs' in the Army and if I recall correctly the engine wasn't painted at all. What vehicles had engines that were painted and what colors did the military use? I think I've seen some Cummings...

Military Mustang project, what color for the interior?

    Rolling Gillespie paint?

Anyone have any tips for rolling on Gillespie paint rather than spraying it. I'm going to attempt to paint my vehicle myself in my garage using the roller method. Does it need to be thinned out like it would be if sprayed? Here's my original post if you have questions about my project...

Paint source for "interior green" 34151?

This is the same thing as "zinc chromate" that was used on WWII aircraft interiors (well one of the colors used). I'm looking for a source and didn't see that Gillespie makes it. I need a few quarts so going to the local model shop wont work. Thanks, Eric

A different project and paint question?

So I'm doing a military theme on my 86 Mustang (see sig for more info). I'm going to paint the exterior in 383 (34094) green. I want the car to have a authentic look and feel to the paint, but I don't want it to look like a beater. I know there is a fine line and this is definitely a project...

    New guy from Florida

I've trolled the forum for quite some time and decided to register. I don't have a military vehicle, but I am doing a military theme with my 86 Mustang. I spent 8 years in the Army and want something unique. My signature has a link to my build thread, its a slow process with two little girls...
