Shenkman = Joe Herman passed away and gofundme page

I am very sorry to report that Joe Herman aka Shenkman passed away last week at the age of 50, leaving behind his 15 year old son Max. Many of us enjoyed trips to Rausch Creek with Joe. Max often accompanied him. Joe had some health problems over the past few years. He was a great guy and I...

My piston is sticking again. I removed hydraulic head once before and after cleaning it ran fine, but now months later the piston keeps sticking. All the big vendors that pop up on a google search or out of stock.

Looking for info on the fill pipe for the master cylinder

I am planning to put a remote reservoir on my brake system If I can’t find a fill pipe. I rigged up the same on my M35A2. My M211 does not have a fill pipe on the master cylinder. The cap for the master has 1.25” threads and no shoulder, so it can be run in too far and drops into the master...

    1953 M211 Brush Truck

I just got a 1953 M211 brush truck. the truck runs nice and the transmission shifts firm. After bleeding the brakes, it stops good as well. It has a faded Civil Defense tag on it. I am not sure how long ago it was sold by the volunteer fire co, but they took good care of it because it is solid.

    Deuce will not start

I am stumped. My M35A2 will not start. First problem with it in 11 years. My lift pump runs, but does not move fuel. I took The pump out, soaked it in gas and cleaned it. I reinstalled it, but wired in an in-line pump from airtex. Replaced all three fuel filters. getting good flow at the...

New owner in PA looking for info from other PA owners

New to the HMMWV scene. Waiting on my SF97 from GP. Looking to get some info on paperwork and maintenance issues from other PA owners. I am in central PA. This will be the most modern MV I have messed with. The WW2 stuff is simple but expensive.

    Got an M170

I bought a 1955 M170. I don't have any history on it. It is original under the hood, still 24 volts. The pannel added to the passenger side was nicely done to fit M38A1 doors, but it did not come with doors. It does have the top and side canvas. I plan to fit some CJ2A seats and install...

    Got a M1009 with a 6.5 NA

Bought a 1984 M1009. My first CUCV. It has a 6.5 rather than a 6.2. Did the govt retrofit 6.5 NA motors in some CUCVs or was this a modification during its time in civilian ownership. It was for sale cheap, so I hauled it home. I seem to be losing prime. I read some threads and replaced the...

    Willys MB2A

Posted about the 1947 MB2A I bought back in October in the Rausch Creek Fall 2014 thread, but did not post here. I have two CJ-2A jeeps and had been looking for an MB or GPW. I do a lot of off roading and am a member of several jeep clubs.

    Picked up a 923A2 yesterday

I got it with Shenkman yesterday at Ft Indiantown Gap. It had really dead batteries, like 3 volts each and the alternator would not charge. We had to wire the fuel solenoid open. It ran good on the way home. It seems to have the same power as my 931A1. I need to sort out the alternator...

Bought a 931A1 need to know date of manufacture for title

I bought a 931A1. The vin is C53102789. The date of delivery on the data plate is NLOLVM. I understand from other posts is should most likely be a 1984, 85 or 86. I would like to get it right, so I can register it as an antique in Pa. Already have an 818 on 53"s, two deuces and a 404 Unimog...

Have spark but will not start

I am having trouble with my 404. It has the civilian ignition. It had been running fine. Now I am getting good spark, but the motor does not try to start, either by pumping the accelerator or ether. The motor is turning over good. I checked the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, all seem to be in...

    Got a 1962 404.114 Unimog

I added another military truck to the collection. It needs some love. Other than the civilian ignition, it is stock. The inside of the windshield frame and a few spots where the paint chipped off, have bright white paint. There is yellow over that and green on top. I plan to wheel it and...

I bought 5 sleeping bags at Lockbourne OH. I need them picked up and shipped to PA. I got a quote from fast frack logistics they quoted $169 to ship five sleeping bags that weigh about 50 pounds. I am hoping a fellow SS member can help me out on this one. Or can recommend someone other than...

    53"s on my 818 w/w

After seeing several 5 tons with big tires, Powerhouse Deuce's in particular, in action at Rausch Creek, I got an 818 last October. Last month I went to Kublos in northern PA and got some 53" tires and a set of 5 ton rims that had worn 14x20 Goodyears mounted on them. Ken was very good to deal...

    Deuce dump conversion

I took a few pics of my recent dump bed project. I read each of the threads on the site and a few others and then did it my way. I bought a 7 ton hoist unit from Premium Supply www.premium-supply.com It was has a 5" by 16" stroke. The kit is very generic and like several of the other kits I...
