I used to sell a lot of H1 stuff on the hml (even before the hummer dealerships opened). I advertised that i would beat any vendor price by 10%. Everyone threw a fit that i wasn't paying to sell on the site.
They especially got pissed when i called out a popular vendor for listing fake retail...
Im saying that i have never heard of belt issues with our stock tires. Most of us leave them with date code on outside, so they will change rotational direction. No issues. We just put them on the trucks in any spot. One side V will face opposite direction. No issues. Some people just like...
So all those thousands of slightly used tires we buy...we just put them on our trucks. Has anyone asked the sellers what side of a truck it came off of? No one will know that answer. I have never heard of our stock tires having belt issues after a used tire was put on the “wrong” side.
That could just be the placebo effect. That is the result you wanted. Did you use scientific equipment to test vibration and a db meter to check noise levels?
Well that explains it. Grease had to get past the oring to leak out the alignment hole. The outside of the wheel is bolted to the hub. Your nuts were loose, letting the back of the Rim go where ever it wanted.
Were you the person that originally mounted that tire?
So it didnt rub on the front, but it did on the back? What is different between front and back that would allow that to happen? Bad bearing in one of the hubs? Loose spindle nut?
That m1165 roof is totally different than the steel m1026 style. The steel roof may mount to that back wall, but you are mixing parts from different models. That can get expensive if it doesnt fit.
The m1165 rear wall is the c-pillar.
You just reminded me of when i was removing blast shields from a hatch. A rusty bolt broke, and i hit my forehead with the ratchet. I gotba few stitches for my efforts. Lol
They are non-directional tires. I always mount mine the way they cone out of ANG....with the date code on the outside.
I had a nanager at a Tire Discounters argue with me that i didnt know what i was talking about and that two of my tires were vackwards. I took my business elsewhere.
Are you going to install a factory aluminum m1152 2-door roof or a steel 4 door roof (as in your pic) ? They use totally different parts. The steel roofs will hook up to sponsons in the c-pillar.
You can undo the clamp and remove the lid from the reservoir to watch the fluid. Have engine running and hold the wheel at side locks for a couple seconds each time. If there is foam, there is air. You can do lock to lock more tgan 40 times.
