My 998 has really really touchy brakes, it only takes 1/2" tops for them to engage.
So far I have yet to see a solution. My major issue is that the brake lights do not come on.
The switch is adjusted back as far as it can be..
Anyone have this issue, a solution ?
Thanks
M1123 Engine Blocks
Was thinking about maybe, pending the wife giving final approval, bidding on an M1123.
I have heard that the blocks are NOT OEM but Chinese made blocks.
Does anyone know if this is true or not ?
I just had the motor replaced in my 1038 to a 6.5 and at some point the broke off the front mounting bracket of the starter.
I know it is a small and obscure little part but making sure that yours is installed and in good shape is more important than you know.
The bracket is at the front end...
I need to replace one of the u-joints and was wondering if anyone has done it. Seems like a simple job but was wondering if anyone has done it in place or is it better to remove the driveshaft ?
Figured I would ask.
I installed a 6.5 NA in my 1038 and along with it a 200A Alt.
I have come across two issues,
First, the amp gauge stays in the yellow for about 30 seconds before it jumps up into the green. Does not matter what RPM.
Second, at idol is it making an odd clicking noise, not sure where it is coming...
Nothing about making the HUMVEE street Legal !!!!
I was informed yesterday by one if the big military parts/vehicle suppliers in Delaware that they had gotten an email that gov-planet would no longer be offering the SF-97
Does anyone else know about this, is it true ? ? ?
Not that I care, my...
It was hard to decide which truck to put the new hard top on, in the end I went with the two door. I think it was a good call..
Paint was still wet when I took the pics. It is nice and flat now...
We all know that the original seats are not the best. I did the upgrade on my 998 this past weekend.
You would think it would be easy.. NOPE..
The Commanders seat comes with a plate to go on top of the battery box cover to add support, thus you have to lengthen the bolts in the base.
Note...
I was told that this is armor for the radiator, seems odd as no air would get in.
Anyone ever seen it and or want it. It is under the Radio Tray in the pic
So you got your new HUMVEE home and now what. He is my list of what to do, Please add suggestions and I will edit the checklist..
Before ever starting it check the oil and coolant. Some places must drain all fluids so just jumping in and starting it could go south really fast. If you do start...
Does anyone have one of these laying around? Condition is not important.
Mine are pretty corroded and I need to replace them.
Being that I have a machine shop in the basement I am going to just make them, I just need a template so I am not down for a few days.
I will probably use stainless so...
After a Unimog, a 5 ton, 3 80s ear Mercedes GWagons and now two HUMVEEs I have officially been cut off.
No more toys allowed.
Honestly I am shocked she let me go this far.. What a great wife...
I picked up hard doors and WOW so nice.. I was worried about the fit with a soft top. Not now..
I have access good used X Doors. clean glass. $600 for a set of 2 was not a bad deal.
Going on my M1038 next. Hopefully it will help a little with the cold weather over winter.
This weekend is the New Garden Airshow in New Garden PA.
