Small battery like cylinder on back of alternator?
Just pulled my passenger side alternator to replace it, I noticed there is a small battery like cylinder bolted to the back with a wire and ring running to one of the posts that is not on the replacement alternator. Pic https://imgur.com/a/xyww5HW If someone could identify what it is, and what... -

LED bulbs for GEN1/2 idiot lights?
I know that the bulbs are required for alternator operation, and that they are prone to burning out. Anyone ever put in some modern LED bulbs since they virtually never burn out? I know their resistance is a lot lower than a normal incandescent, but would the exciter circuit really care? -

Largest battery combinations? M1028
My batteries are toast, looking to buy a set of new ones. I know most people use group 31 or group 34 batteries which easily fit on the battery trays. My question is will military 6T style batteries fit the trays? Looking at their design I am almost willing to bet that it's what they come with... -
