This weekend displaying my Deuce with other club members and while watching Airbourne reenactors jump out of a C-47, the Airshow coordinator comes over and asks if I would mind taking my Deuce over to the drop zone on the other side of the runway and pick them up?....I Guess :naner:
I figured these were meant for the fmtv's but Is there a "correct" spot to mount it on the Deuce?? I was just going to modify the bracket and try to mount it between the center windshield frame.
I just bought three tires on rims for my deuce ( $25 each ) and when I was unloading them I came across this ( recessed) rim in the group....Is this a M135 rim??
OK
Back in 2010 I redid my deuce : http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?53338-So-it-begins-but-never-ends : and three months later when I got finished the only darn thing I misplaced was the friggin little clip that locks down the hood support rod!, well I just came across some on...
I took a chance a couple of years ago and bought a damaged med duty tow bar w/ 3/4" feet for $150 including delivery. I am finally getting around to try fixing them, as you can see in pic the ears are bent out far enough that the pin won't go through., I'm thinking that they'll need to have...
I'm a old Florida boy so this is my first time putting on tire chains., I still have some slack in the chain but I have it hook all the way up to the last link...did I get it right?? I plan on running ( if ever necessary ) single chains on the outside rear tires ( as per Georgia ) and on front...
Simple question
I there a Military designated spot on the mirror frames ( westcoasters ) to mount the spot mirrors or is it unit/drivers discretion.
Did search for "spot mirrors" and also "mirror mounting" and found nada
Took my deuce out today after doing new O-rings in the HH ( and new rear seal, oil.filters, clutch, pressure plate, tranny....) and after coming back she now idles at 1050rpm's which is 250 more than it was doing before changing o-rings. I rechecked the plunger shaft ( while truck was running )and...
Guys
I'm replacing my old 4 finger PP with a 3 finger one and my question is ( for any of you that have done this ) was there any difference in the throw, I thought I read somewhere that someone had to reset the shaft rod position on the spline ( see pic ) to make up the extra slack being there...
Doing a search I've found several replacement rear seal #'s, the CR 49928 seems to be the common one and then there's the super seal CR 49927 and then theres the Timken 39801 which I believe also comes with a sleeve., So I'm curious what you guys like...AND!...did you reuse your flywheel bolts...
OK started spilling out oil from the rear seal coming back from Memorial parade Monday. My dipstick shows about a qt more oil ( plus what oil trail I left behind ) then I remember seeing before so I'm thinking since the fdc is already bypassed then it must be the o-rings on the hyd head...
Don't know if its still up but does anyone have the link to PS Magazine article on making wood wheel chocks?, I can make/buy chocks but just want to do the mil spec ones.
Don't know if anyone has done or posted this setup before but..
During the last show I was at I watched my truck suddenly roll back about a foot and I realized two things, one was I need to start chocking my wheels and two was that one of the kids I let up in the cab had released my handbrake...
My 6TN's finally died so I went and replaced them with a pair of group 65 Batts (1000ca each ) so instead of just shimming them in with 2x4's like I did on my last deuce, I went a bit more secure setup this time ( and added a master switch ).
Does anyone know what the torque setting is for the big nut on tranny driveshaft flange ( or what TM to find it ) or is it one of those tighen till your left knut pops  settings
Just pick up a set of towbar feet at the GAMVPA rally and starting wondering (after the fact) that maybe they're the wrong ones., These have the 1 1/8"hole/pin that connects the foot to the towbar, does this fit the medium duty towbar or the larger ones?? Obviously I don't have a towbar ( yet )...
I know there alot of Georgia members near me so I figured I'd throw this out there
