OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

I had a similar usage with mine. I hauled 2 tons of triple 15 and urea Tuesday. It’s Like you said it’s amazing how it rides when loaded up. Hopfully I’ll have a lot of farm chores knocked out in the coming weeks and I can finish my rearview camera install and can start to work on the outside...

    Tire lube- Paste or liquid?

I just use the Murphy's tire and tube compound concentrate. If i need it straight I have it, then if I need the diluted liquid I just take some separately and dilute it down.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I just went with one off of amazon, https://a.co/d/d85Cn3m. I wanted a unit that had the rearview camera and CarPlay so I can use the phones navigation if need be. The CarPlay linked to the phone works flawlessly so far but I haven’t yet had time to install the rearview camera yet. Spring time...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I had some free time and It was just a little project, maybe took about a hour and a half. Plus for me, it just moved everything forward into a better field of view closer to the dash and used what would other wise be unused space. Plus if i decide to add what ever to the radio tray in the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Worked on a simple little project recently. I wanted a phone holder and a rear view camera/CarPlay navigation screen, but I didn’t want the windshield/visibility to be blocked anymore than it already is. pondering on it all I realized there is a dead space on the corner of the radio tray so I...

    MEP-802A questions

Also in the past I’ve used horse/stallmat and or rubber outdoor pavers for generators and air compressors in the past. my current air compressor is sitting on the rubber outdoor pavers now and while running and standing next to it you can’t feel any type of vibration.

GEP 6.5 non turbo valley drain

I agree with the above statements from RWH, the tube is a poor design. When I rebuilt mine I had removed the old rusted and disfigured tube and ordered a new one. When I received the new one, at one glance I realized that installing that tube back on and keeping it clean and flowing was futile...

T-29/M-29Weasel in Arizona....in need of a better home

I mean i’d gladly re-home it. A man always needs to have at least 58 projects all going on at the same time.

    M1151A1

I’m glad it helped. If you’re not used to the tms, there is a set of growing pains a person has to go through to get proficient at them. So don’t feel bad. Good luck on your endeavors!

    M1151A1

Everyone in some way or fashion will have their own shortcuts and so on but if your wanting to follow the TM to the letter, look under the equipment conditions at the top of that task, on that last pic you posted. Where it states that the injection lines are to be removed. If you go to that task...

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M1152A1 HMMWV Project!!

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M1152A1 HMMWV Project!!

Ha they looked pretty rough in the pictures, a good find indeed. Murphy usually loves surprises. Took me awhile but here’s my chains and the nylon I used instead of rubber. Also my hooks were damaged to the point of them not bing functional so I had these carabiners laying around so I used them.

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M1152A1 HMMWV Project!!

When I reworked my tailgate chains, instead of going back to the rubber chain covers I went with a nylon sheathing. I like it better myself. The nylon flex’s better and just looks better in my eyes and is just as easy to replace as the rubber. Here is what I got PATIKIL 0.9" Dia 1.6" Flat Dia...

Something every MEP TQG owner should undertake... rodent proofing

After reading on here about the havoc that the little buggers cause, that was one of the first things I did to mine when I got it. I posted it here awhile back https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/screens-to-keep-out-pests-any-problems-with-restriction.204047/post-2388289 Fast forward to two...

    New Wheels and Tires

Glad to hear it. I just ordered everything last night. The factory setup right now is fine except for aging out of round 12 year old tires lol. So with weighing the differences, literally, and pricing between staying with oem with runflat replacement inserts with more surplus tires or...

    Soft door seal .
