What did you do to your deuce this week?

Happy new year folks. Spent a decent amount of time out in the woods between the holidays. I even had help this time. After the second day of above frozen temps, the dump trailer ended up being more of a boat anchor than anything. Even empty, the two wettest spots in the trail became...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Retrieved the heaviest load I've ever had in the bed a few weeks ago. All oak for once. It's been a while since I went out to the woods alone and I firmly remembered why after my 7 hour escapade of bucking, splitting, loading, unloading, and stacking was complete. The other downside was that...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

To be honest, my original plan when I found the place a few years ago was to live in the barn until I could get the dilapidated house more suitable for human life. The time table on that plan was mentally reduced by 85% within minutes of meeting a special girl around the same time. It would...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My Summer driver/time capsule experiment I got back in 2016. I park the car as soon as the roads are salted the first time each year up here in MI. I'm the second title holder to the Virginia State police. One more shot for perspective. (regrettably has the wrong hobby pictured but better...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The elves have been on strike ever since I bought the truck it would seem :( I've probably said it before, but I don't know what I would do without my shop. "Perpetually grateful" best describes my luck in finding and being able to purchase the place almost 4 years ago now.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

After having the front axle torn apart at least twice prior for more serious issues, I finally replaced the worn king pin bushings. The lunacy of not doing such an easy job with obvious drivability benefits isn't lost on me. They were near the top of my short "annoyance" list that I'm forcing...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

We've always used block heaters as a winter start assist on the basis that warm engines start easier, and warm oil flows easier. Usually would just plug in whatever machine was needed the night before. I personally don't see any advantage in keeping an engine warm just to sit for a long amount...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You've nailed it on the head. It's along the lines of raising a very good dog. Or something. I've yet to figure out a good metaphor that those on the outside will understand. Thanks! For the first time since I got the truck, I quietly admitted that she might be due for a paint job once the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Top photo: The day I went to the neighbors house to retrieve a derelict hunk of iron that had been "sitting" in the backyard for 9 years. Bottom photo: Daisy participating in our engagement photos from last weekend, two years and one month after limping into our driveway.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took Daisy out with the 14 foot dump trailer attached for some evening firewood cutting therapy in a decently muddy field that was having the fence-rows removed. After the dump trailer was loaded (overloaded honestly) to the top with some gorgeous maple trunks, I got the truck and trailer...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Early into owning my truck, I was able to install a new alternator belt with the radiator installed. I think I removed the top rad mount and slightly leaned the rad away from the engine. I didn't mess with the compressor belt until much later when I had the radiator out though. Is your engine...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I changed my compressor belt using two pipe wrenches. One was definitely a 48inch, the other was an 8 inch I believe. Maybe I was able to get away with not having the special wrenches because the radiator and the fan were removed at the time? Nothing got screwed up from the procedure, however...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Cant ever have enough junk rags for that job. Makes me cringe even thinking about that repair again.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

*glances at the six grade eight 3/4" mounting bolts holding the home-made hitch onto my deuce* 😅

What did you do to your deuce this week?

A proper fabrication job like that is the reason I didn't post any pics of my attempt at the exact same repair. I know that mine wont fall off, but I take solace in the fact that it's somewhat hidden under the cab/behind the J-pipe

What did you do to your deuce this week?

We cheated for Daisy's hitch install. Idk if you can find a place local to you that will rent/loan out a mag-drill, but having access to one via work was definitely a life saver for us if anyone is considering their own hitch install in the future.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Hell, a lot of blood sweat and tears went into just getting my truck running and back up to a respectable level of reliability. I cant imagine the work involved to make it look near as good as your example. Well done (y)

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I didn't turn the injection pump up, no. There was enough of a noticeable increase in power after the FDC delete I opted not to change anything for longevity sake. I usually use the M35 for local heavy hauling, but if I need to cover some longer distances with a load, I hook the pickup to the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks Dipstick (y) If you're not in a hurry, she'll oblige with most anything that fits in the trailer. It certainly helps that I live in a mostly flat state I'd wager. Ever since I did the FDC bypass a few years ago, she's been strong as an OX for the most part. That and the lack of stop signs...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I finally was able to procure the factory battery hold down for my truck. While I had the batteries out, I removed the passenger step so I could weld up/fix the rotted panel that is affixed just behind the J-pipe. After another greasing, we hauled 5 dump trailer loads of buried cement out of my...
