What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

You mean that runflat ratchet thing ? I used that several times. Works nicely, and especially the "release" part is way more controlled than with a cargo strap ratchet. However, I found my runflat tool was bending under stress, so I welded an extra connection into the open end of the "U"-shaped...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I did this on my M997 ambulance recently; I know what you mean. I think I spent half the time just figuring out how to get access to all those completely hidden bolts. Taking the halfshafts out is a must, I think.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I finally got the original A/C on my body-off restored M997 ambulance running. When I got the ambulance top, the freon lines were open, and insects had nested in them. Also, the engine-mounted compressor, the hoses and part of the wiring were missing. A very BIG Thank You to fellow Steelsoldier...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

No, not the swingfire heater. The early M997 had an M10530B heater in a little compartment above the commander. Together with an A/C system that I´m still working on. Point is, the A/C system will block any access to the heater, so I want to get some confidence in it before putting the A/C in.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

After weeks of rain and snow, today was a beautiful winter day for a change, so I took the M997 for a spin: One thing I noticed is that the extra heater for the rear was designed with an extra medic in mind to operate it. There´s no way for the driver to control or stop the rear heater, so...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

As the second-to-last step in the body-off restauration of my M997 ambulance, today I started the M997 cabin heater for the first time (the last step will be to get the A/C running, hopefully). Everything went fine with the heater, apart from some excessive smoke due to the long pre-ignition...

Those are Avenger air defense Humvees, without the Stinger pods on the side. If they are on the way to GovPlanet, I want one !:)

Wow, that was a great idea. I never bothered to check those, as the auctions are out of reach for us non-US-citizens. But to see how complete some of those trucks are, makes your eye water. An M1045A2, looking almost factory-fresh, with all the trimmings and supplemental armor, and and gone for...

Great collection ! Would you have some pictures of the M996´s interior ? I recently aquired a TOW slantback kit with all the racks and holders, but am unsure about the placement of some.
