Took the alternator in to be rebuilt. The man thought he would have it done in a couple days. It was difficult to find anyone doing that type of work in our area. If this works out, the shop I took it to has been there for ages, but the owner retired and has found a younger man to take it... -

NDT, disconnected alternator. Reconnected batteries, truck fired right up, so was able to get it back in its slot. Will pull the alternator in a couple days and see if it can be tuned up. thank you for the tip. -
