Bought, modified, & installed West coast mirrors.
Bought West Coast style mirrors on line (a little disapointed in the quality (weight compared to the OEM) of the mirrors)as soon an I recieved them I tore them apart to start painting them. I soon realized I needed a couple of small brackets...
Finished media blasting the steps, Jerry Can holder and new Rampage Jerry Can tool box. The hardest part was getting the media blaster thruough about 6 or 7 coats of old military paint.
My truck has been setting in a conditioned warehouse since 2009, I've had it for about 3 months myself. I washed it today, it was only after I washed it I realized how ditry/ black my tan paint was. Looks like a whole other truck now. It was painted @ Toole in 1990.
Still being pretty new to the whole Deuce MV world I learned the hard way that the braking system on the M35A2 trucks are a little lacking. Never really gave much thought to the brakes before, they worked good when I got the truck.... Never thought much about it untill my brake pedal went all...
Finally making some progress on my troop seats rework. I am replacing all the wood, all the hardware (nuts, bolts, washers & pins), also I am media blasting all the troop seat brackets down to bare metal and repainting. This didn't seem like such a big job in the beginning but as I have gotten...
Only had the Deuce about a month, as I get to know her better & better I venture out further. Ran down to the local Home Depot Sunday, didn't really need anything I just love Home Depot. Only about an hour drive round trip but it's further than I've gone yet.
This morning I had a cousin an one of his friends that is a military mechanic go look at a deuce.5 for me. I then spoke with the owner and made a deal to get my 1st deuce.5 next Saturday.
I know, it's not really mine yet, but the deal has been made and all that is left to do is drive 10 hours...
