This is the fourth one I've seen involved in a crash in the past few weeks and that's only the ones people posted. It appeared in each case to be the other drivers fault. Baffling how people can't see these things.
Those are a great mod. I have them in both of my trucks. They make for a very good backup in the remote areas I take my trucks where cell phones don't stand a chance.
Installed my overhead console. I used 1/8" aluminum for it and welded on some stand offs to screw the radios and fuse panel too. It's latched and hinged so I can swing it down to easily get to all the wiring. So far I have the 2 meter ham radio, CB radio and stereo. Also added a glove box since...
I really don't see the big deal with split ring wheels. They aren't that dangerous or hard to do. People these days just can't handle much. In a lot of cases they're easier to do than single piece wheels. I've done many of them at work and on my trucks and if it's clean and locked in properly...
I flipped my 109 hubs in that time, but I've been in deuce hubs so much I could do them in my sleep. I also have all the tools and didn't have to clean the bearings and my brakes are good because I stay on top of that stuff. Four hours is kind of a best case scenario time.
I beat the crap out of mine with a slide hammer and that wouldn't do it. Wound up putting in a piece of pipe from the other side and a few whacks with the hammer and out it came. Also ditched the crap stock seals with an upgraded "wobble" type seal after replacing the stock ones 3 times and they...
This is typical laminated windshield glass. Stock glass is definitely laminated. I'm not sure about the side windows though. Legally all windshields have to be laminated glass. On some of the older vehicles like my 1948 Ford ALL the glass is laminated.
Picked up the windshield from the glass place. It has modern style glued in glass. This truck is getting A/C so I don't need the flip out windows and this provides a good seal. Plus when I get the trim on the outside it will look stock. I guess I should start updating my build thread since I've...
Both of mine did this on the coolant hoses on top of the engine when it got very cold. I figured it was because the rubber had shrunk from temperature so I tightened them and the never leaked again.
Began painting the 109 with 24087 Gillespie paint. Got the top done. Next is underneath, painting the wheels black and painting the decals on the doors and hood. It will be a mix of old and new. This is actually the first vehicle I've ever painted so it was a valuable learning experience.
I used a silicone grease on it and did replace that spring. The master cylinder was new a few years ago and I rebuilt it and checked the free play when I was diagnosing this problem 6 months ago. It's doing the same exact thing so I'm guessing it's the air pack. Last time it was full of brake...
