Well to date that is the strangest looking what ever, that is suppose to be some type of grease / lube that I've seen in a wheel bearing. Nice job on the cleanup and reassemble.
Its just a variation on the K-line or In-Line tube double / bubble flaring tool. Very nice quality and works very smoothly. Figured I have a butt load of flares to make so I wanted it as easy as possible.

If I was to purchase just one I would go with 2542A41. It will cover Std thread 3/8 thru 5/8 (11,12,13,14 and16) and fine thread 3/8 to over 1”(12,14,16,18,20 and 24).
Same way with me when I first got my deuce. You start to get use to the different vibrations, noises and idiosyncrasy of the truck and get comfortable with a 40 year old vehicle you actually have to drive and pay attention to.
