Anything to make the trailer more ridgid would help. Will see about some plywood or maybe some steel or aluminum, as my brother rebuilds rail cars and maybe he could round something up out of the scrap pile. By the way, what is the # for the fuel filter adapters. Are they from fleet filter?
I just received my trailer for my mep 002a from harbor frieght. I paid around $150 for it. Its probably from the same manufacturer as it looks identical as Jimc. But its the next size smaller as its rated for around 900 lbs and has 8in. tires. The dry weight on the 002's name plate says 960 lbs...
So what did you use for the oil filter. Was it the fram K85 adapter plate? What did you use for the 0-ring. The blow by out of the dip stick looks normal. My 003a did the same thing, oil even ran down the filler. Changed the hard cork gasket on the cap with a new one and no more oil seapage.
If you just need the dial for your fuel gauge, I ordered a replacement from e-componets. Seams like it was $28 shipped. Good people to work with. http://www.e-components.net/dials.htm
