There is an air transport company in Alaska, that has bought up a huge share of DC-3 parts. They have a number of DC-3's and do sell to other people. Read about in in Air & Space a few years back.
We got to tour into the 747 and look at the Shuttle. Someone complained that he wanted to see the inside of the Shuttle cockpit, so I asked my Step brother for some pictures. He was Chief Engineer for the Shuttle cargo arm for a good number of years. I may try and find them. Very interesting!
Saw the Guppy and the NASA 747 used to transport the Shuttle, at Biggs Field, Ft Bliss Texas, back in 1986? Ugly dont cut it. The 747 with Shuttle landed there due to "unforeseen" engine red lights. The Guppy also. Biggs was an alternate landing site when these big birds had "situations".
