What did you do to your deuce this week?

The trailer brake switch will be used to power a trailer brake controller. As I type this, that is a future project. The Doodle Booster switch was originally planned to control the ejector seat, haha. After some contemplation, it will be used for some miscellaneous accessories.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I got the indicator lights from McMaster-Carr. They have a few different colors to choose from. I had trouble deciding between green or red, but I ended up choosing red because of the other dash lights being red. You could probably find something similar...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I've been upgrading my electrical system for added lights and future radios. Here are some pictures of my new switch panel that I added.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks for the kind words. I guess part of the fun of having this truck is doing some custom fabricating along the way. I have to admit, if I had seen the box that you linked to, that it would have been a temptation.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have some plans to upgrade my truck with some added lights and accessories. My first step was to fabricate a fuse box, which I mounted on the inside firewall on the passenger's side. I fabricated the box out of 1/8" steel. I installed two fuse blocks inside. One fuse block is for 12V...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I drained my radiator and wasn't happy with how slow the petcock drained and how the coolant would drain onto the bumper when I removed the petcock, so I installed a ball valve pointing down where it will be easier and less messy to catch the coolant. I capped off the ball valve to avoid any...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I got the drawback you mentioned covered. Right now I am building a fuel tank out of 1/2" AR plate! Think that'll stop the fuel thief? Haha rofl Seriously, thanks everyone for the kind words!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I decided it was time to secure my fuel tank against unauthorized opening. I bored a close-fitting hole in some 3/16" steel plate to fit over the neck of my fuel tank. The rest of the project was made from 1/2" x 1" and 1/8" x 2" steel. No drilling or welding on the fuel tank was necessary to...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

One little project that was accomplished this week was replacing the rotten chain covers on my tailgate. A family member made some replacements out of canvas and waterproofed them with wax. First picture is the before, second is the new chain cover, and third is the new chain cover on the tailgate

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I am anticipating towing a trailer soon, and thought it would be a good idea to reinforce the trailer receiver hitch that I have already. To do this I reinforced an existing forward cross member with 4" channel. I also fabricated an attachment between the forward cross member and my existing...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

When I purchased my truck it had some auxiliary lights mounted on the bumper. I wasn't ever completely happy with where they were mounted, so I made up new mounts and guards that kept with the traditional look of the truck. The new location of the mounts I made was a little further back and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Today I finally got around to replacing my knuckle boots. The job also entailed replacing some brake lines. I knew access to my wheel cylinder valves was very poor because it was almost impossible to bleed the brakes. I solved this problem by machining some new wheel cylinder valves from 1/2"...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The heater duct hose was quite rotten. I replaced it with some flexible vacuum hose I purchased from McMaster-Carr. People are always asking what my truck is, so I also installed a sign on my toolbox to properly identify it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks everyone. My shifter boot was fabricated in our shop. I made it out of a 1/8" Aluminum and milled out the center. Then I drilled the holes and deburred it and lastly engraved it on an engraving machine, before painting. The rubber was just some stuff we had laying around that I cut to...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I installed the transfer case shifter boot. I tried to use the shifter boot that I’ve seen others use here (Mr. Gasket, I believe?) and it didn’t look like it was going to work without tearing when the transfer case was in low range. So I had to go an alternative route.
