The intercom box is to the right there, but this post was about the cargo light in the center.
Yes the VIC-1 intercom system uses headsets. Mine has 3 stations: driver, passenger and cargo area.
Got my cargo light installed in the bed. I'm really happy with how this came together. First try, I wasn't getting ground. Had to take it out and scrape a little paint off. Now it works great and I think looks great--very natural place to mount it.
(yes, the switch is on in the pic. It's not...
Thanks! I really debated about putting that one station on the top of the transmission tunnel but 1) if I put it behind the seat down low it would be really hard to reach, and 2) by making this the "commander" unit I can wear it and adjust my volume while driving.
Installed 3-station VIC-1 intercom. I've had it since 2012, finally put it in the truck and all wired and hooked up and working. One of my headsets has a bad mic I found, got a couple replacements on the way.
Found that the removable plate at the front of the bed is the perfect size to install one of my 2 interior lights, so got it cut out and started that process. Installed LED headlights. Installed my VIC-1 amp / control panel.
I thought the PTO was actually easier than the winch. By the way, you can insert the shaft after everything else is on but you have to slide it apart to do so.
My truck came from the KY Nat'l Guard with fuel cans already mounted on the rear mud flaps. I run WMO so I'm not too nervous to have them full back there.
I've got a similar crane I'll be installing later on. Can you show what you did under the bed for additional bracing, if anything?
Thanks! Looks great!
