What did you do to your deuce this week?

I've always disconnected batteries for winter storage, but lately sometimes they don't work in the spring. A battery tender hooked up during the winter is the best way to preserve a battery. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks, I have my parts manual, but it didn't mention thread size, and the Elbow used to adapt was stated at a 1/4" NPT male, didn't mention female side. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you, I was looking at the commonly available 1/8" npt "T" in the auto stores, and was like, that looks too small. I am also away from the truck for at least 3 more days, but would like to be able to finish my electric fuel pump install this weekend. I need the T at the oil sender so I can...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Wondering if someone can confirm the size of the oil pressure sender fitting? I can't find any info, but I need to install a T, so I need to know if it's 1/4 or 1/8npt Thanks Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Did you adjust the shoes? I've found several trucks where the shoes aren't tight to specs, and give a "low" pedal feel. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Use copper nickel brake line for that, pressure output from the master cylinder can exceed 400psi, that line is filled with brake fluid, not air. It's also a 5/16 line. While a little difficult to get lined up, you also don't want to compete tighten both ends until you have both of the fittings...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Confusing post, master cylinder connects to the slave/airpack via a single 's' bend 5/16 brake line fitting. The slave/airpack has the large 3/8 metal "J" pipe. And it's threaded on both ends, very easy to remove by loosening both ends. Adding several more points of failure(4 more with two "L"...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Tried to beat the heat and humidity. But I bled the brakes, with a pressure bleeder. I now have 3/4 pedal, I think I may still have an air pocket in the lines somewhere. I did an air-pack rebuild recently, which I'm hoping solves my brake loss issue I had earlier this year. I have yet to find...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Some states allow the use of the "military large truck license" instead of requiring a CDL. Not the typical case with a Deuce as it is below the 26,001 CDL weight requirement. Us regular Civilians though would require a CDL to operate a 5 ton or bigger though(if properly registered at the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I used 1/2 gallon when I did a flush and fill on my truck. I didn't flush much as I did all new wheel cylinders, master, and air pack. I also need up redoing lines after as well. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally got around to removing the door latch assembly from the drivers door. It was in desperate need of lubrication, and twice last week left me unable to open the door. I didn't take any during pictures. But I had to replace most of the screws because the heads were either stripped out, or...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

M-715, 1/4 way through restoration, its on the back burner as I go through and finish some other projects. The blue trailer does house a lot of parts for my one of my other projects-VW aircooled bugs and buses...can never have enough projects, especially if you get them cheap to start.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Moved her, about 5 ft to the right and at a 45 degree angle... prepping to take her out for her first voyage of the season...less then 3/4 inch gas in the tank prevented me from running up to the station for some petrol. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Gillespie paint is another good paint, matches factory paint the best, this is either online order, or sometimes at local military shows. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Best to pull all the drums and check behind the rubber boots on the wheels cylinders. Another possibility is within the air pack itself, there are a couple different ways for fluid to leak out but be undetectable. Please figure out the source of the leak before driving on the road, for your...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yarz is correct, you want a rearward angle (or forward, if front shackle) so when unloaded (possible on rough roads, or when having to traverse uneven terrain) it will not flip forward, as that will break spring eyes. Somewhere between 90 and 45 degrees is good, I like to set at around 70...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Once the cable is properly adjusted at the parking brake, you can adjust handle travel of the "whale tail" in the cab. I'm pretty sure major adjustments of either system still require you to go under the truck. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Most states can have more laws over DOT regulations as well, I know several states have the no re-treads/caps on steer axles of trucks over 26,000GVW, or busses. In any case, it is wise to not use retreads, particularly if they are older then 5 years. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The M543 was also a 5 ton wrecker, but I believe the only difference was boom manufacture, I've always been told the 543 used a GarWood wrecker, the M62 was some other manufacture. I could be wrong though. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk
