UP Date 4/12/15 Remember a lot of the older posts with Behr #'s on the lids are not true FS they were color matched, so start with a clean slate.
Tell the clerk the list of the FS codes in the HD paint computer is found by going under "Competitor Color look up" and selecting Federal Standard...
mikey and I both went to HD today him in PA and me in KS and they (the FS codes) are no longer in their computer, they were in it last fall but now gone. We were both wanting 24087 semi gloss of 60's MV's. Came home and spent 45 Mins on the phone with Behr Tech assistance and they were no help...
Yep if you over spray rough CARC you will need to sand smooth the weird parts of the finish on ammo trailer is where I didn't behind fuse box and upper rear corner.
Most likely just being lazy or not up to par, they are used to folks walking up with the color card and then just punching in the #'s off the card.\ It is just listed as 24087 in the FS section, no color name on any of the FS colors just their FS code numbers. When I have seen the screen it...
They are under federal standard section and on some paint computers it is under federal standard "new book" the code for semi gloss OD 24087 That is the code, rest are flat base with WWII OD 34087, Carc Nato colors are 383 green code = 34094. 383 Brown code= 30051, 911 Black code= 37030, 686...
OK I don't still have a Behr can for the sand but I just got a gallon at Wally world and know for sure it is in their puter as I watched the guy look Federal Standard #33446 up. I got the "colorPlace" exterior flat, medium base their code B-42 1/2, C 2 Y-38, F-13. I used this brand...
The simple answer is 24052 is the federal standard code for the paint. Tell the paint guy you want federal standard 24052 exterior semi-gloss, it is in their computer. If he doesn't know how have him get someone else that does. FS24052

Had some Behr left over so got my former See Bee TFK painted up for this upcoming weekend. This is the first time I have used it on vinyl so will see how it holds up. 1st picture is from 3 years ago when I got it.
Crap! just noticed I forgot to paint the inside of the spare tire mount.
Nope it's semi gloss 24087 OD, the Marines I think at that time used semi gloss 24052 OD or lusterless 35042 both which I think has more green to them.
The wind quit blowing but then we had rain for a week. It stopped yesterday,so today after the dew dried up. I went down to the barn to paint the M146, I pulled the data plates and reflectors yesterday. Still have the undercarriage and wheels, used a Wagner airless, never again it would be...
This sorta has to do with MV's, I went down to Artillerydan shop in Phoenix to pick up some M130B1's and parts I had bought from him last weekend. His shop is in a industrial park and around the corner from him I saw this being painted. It is a flat building no towers, curves just flat. They were...
24087 code for Behr Got it right after too many trips back and forth to HD I think I finally got the Behr 24087. The left half was sprayed with Rapco/Gillespie 24087 3 days ago, Right was rolled on with Behr Ultra exterior semigloss about 2 hours ago.
new Behr #'s for 383 green
I decided to keep this former USAF M101A2 to keep my temper tent in. First added a jack landing leg, flipped rear lights and added a tailgate off another trailer that had delcinlator decals. It need paint so down to HD for some Behr carc 383. No power at the barn so...
Hunt for 24087 continues. Ok I am getting ready to repaint a XM818 and M146 trailer back to 60's color for a Nam tribute truck. I had some Gillespie rattle cans I pick up last year from Rapco, sprayed some for a sample went to HD got some made, came home and it was off, too brown. So looked...
Got them in the local store around Labor day and they were on sale, got the stand also.
The only problems I have had with house paint has been my fault in the prep. I have had small areas come loose and show the base color. I have kept small jars of the colors I have used. I re clean/prep the...
