All of my Thiokols (Imp, Sprytes, 601s, 4T10) have aluminum backers (I will verify that in the next few days), so I'm pretty sure they were standard. My 601 is the most 'all original' machine I have.

Been on the road for the last few years and not able to do much of anything. Currently in Alaska trying to get some work done on my Thiokol 1402 Imp. Regarding parts for the 1450, you should find many sources here...

Tell them Bobcat sent you.
No 601 updates, though I expect to be all over her in early December.
I am not selling the 4T10, but I will be moving her from NV to NM in about a week. Check my 4T10 thread about then for en route pictures.
The other 4T10 is a squid-mobile, so of limited interest to me.
My 601 is now in more trustworthy hands.
She is currently getting some work done on her running gear. The engine seems to be running fine, but the first trip up the mountain will tell. Meanwhile...
Tire repair and/or replacement. I do need to find a couple of spare wheels eventually...
The 4T10 will be returned to its true blue. The M43 was a squid-mobile, and to me it would just seem fake to paint it blue. I hate it when strata blue deuces and M37s get OD'd. But I don't want it to be some squidly color either. Maybe I'll just sand it down a bit, clear-coat it, and call it patina.
Looks like the 601 won't head north until next week due to logistics (time/space/equipment). No biggie since I won't be able to get up there until November. Then there will be some fun!
I have purchased the 4T10. Now I just need to transport it from NV to NH or NM. Haven't decided which place...
Holy Frijole, are you timely or psychic? The 601 will be on the move this week. Today my M43 and the 601 tracks made their great escape from my cousins place and may have made it north by now. Tomorrow it should be the 601s turn. Reports from the field are the 601 engine is purring like a big...
Meanwhile, my old girl was on the move over the weekend. But first she had to be dug out, only to find that the tracks were frozen to the ground.
Ok, so now I need to remove the tracks. Without a 'track jack', I used a pair of cargo straps to compress the grousers/cleats so that the rubber...
There's a happy camper out there somewhere. Looked like it was going to go for a mere $8,200, but someone sniped at under 5secs for $10,500. A good price, but what a steal it would have been at $8,200!!

No, and if there were one, I wouldn't advise trying to go that fast. All of that bolted together heavy rubber slinging around at speed is a recipe for disaster. I've had more than one track bust on me, and all you can do is wait for impact or roll. There are some civi snowcats that are not...
Alas, no. I've been too busy this year jumping between Chile, Alaska, Canadian Yukon and Northwest Territories to get her prep'd. Now it looks like I won't make Weare at all. I've assigned my brother the task of trying to get her ready in my absence, but it's not looking good. He's ex-Army, so...
I actually had it parked south of Socorro, NM (in my secret desert location ;-) ) for a couple of years. Now it's in NH to stay. I still have several antique Kristi-brand (non-MV) snowcats stored in NM that will also start makng their way east. They are much slower and probably top out at 20MPH...
Did not know the M114 APC was used by the USAF. Wikipedia says it was used by the Army in Nam, but didn't work out to well and was retired into the hands of civilian police departments. More here...
