Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

I'm facing the same dilemma. All rivets and bolts on the frame have been replaced with 8.8 zinc plated bolts. Do I scuff them up and paint them or not? I don't want anything to shine... Then again, the frame isn't very visible when looking at the truck once it is done... In the future I will...

Richard told me these don't go through the sorting machine. They go past it manually.

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

I payed around 1100 euros total for 2 rear spring packs. I had Richard buy and ship them for me. Shipping was the biggest expense at $ 161.31 for having them shipped to Richard and another € 417.92 euros for having them shipped to the Netherlands by FedEx. We tried to find a shop that would...

DS4 is computer controlled. This will not work in our trucks. A lot of newer truck owners (GMT400) actually go back to the DB2 and eliminate the computer. There are a lot of different DB2 pumps. The DB2831-4911 is considered to be the best by a lot of people if you are going to use a turbo...

The turbo will not add a ton of HP. I believe a 6.2 is rated 160HP or 185HP for the military version. Not sure where those 25HPs would've come from? Only difference is the EGR valve. I don't believe the EGR robs the engine of that much power? A 6.5 TD is rated at 215 HP from the factory. These...

The GEP 6500 (Optimizer) will swap right in. Externally it's pretty much the same block. There's an extra oil pressure port in the valley and one on the front (for turbo). The CUCV v-belt system and other subsystems will transfer over. The metal is supposed to be stronger to battle the cracking...

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

For the technical part I wouldn't worry. The only difference between a 6.2 and 6.5 is the bore size. Block is the same. Legally... do you really think they will measure the cylinders or pistons with a micrometer? I don't. On the outside it will still be a 6.2 and have the same 6.2 and the engine...

If Rock Auto shows the correct pictures, only the Airtex 41618 and Delphi HFP906 are the correct ones judging by the lever. Then again, Globeworks also showed the right picture on their site. I'm guessing they order from RA and similar stores as well and never noticed the difference when upping...

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

I have this NOS HMMWV pump laying around. I won't be using it anymore. Judging by the lever, it is the right one. It has been a while, but I believe the tube with the yellow cap is for the HMMWV fording kit. It can be plugged off. If Rick is right, let me know and we'll work something out.

I have mentioned it before, and in no way do I intend to advertise but try Richard at usa2you.nl. Don't be fooled by the .nl, he can get parts shipped to any (EU?) country and save you a lot of money! He'll get customs charges down and as he ships TONS of stuff yearly, he gets great volume...

    Looks like Cockpit International series.
