The F and G dimensions are not specified on my prints, which are for the factory CASE bucket. They would just be C and D plus 2X the thickness of the metal. The FLU backhoe bucket is not made by CASE, so it may be different.
The OEM buckets use a hardened steel bushing in that location.
It looks...
The dimensions would be the same as the 580E.
C is 10.12”
B is 1.759-1.762”
D is 5.25”
A is 1.509-1.512”
E is 14.01”
Your definition of dipper and link may be different than mine so use common sense.
From their website:
“Expedition Imports has been a Continental Specialty Dealer/Distributor for many years. We import tires from the factory by the container load! The most commonly sold tire in North America is the Continental MPT 81. Tire specific information can be found on each of the...
I am shocked that they were 35 years old as the military has a rotation program where they rotate tires out. Or so I thought. All my FLU's had 2003-2009 date codes on them which corresponded to when they were actually being used by the military.
The MPT80's are available from Expedition...
“In December 2000, the EPA signed emission standards for model year 2007 and later heavy-duty highway engines, with a phase-in schedule over 2007-2010 [1044]. In addition to emission standards, the rule included ultra-low sulfur (15 ppm) diesel fuel regulations.”
You mean Clinton era...
Even at 70F, it takes me 5-10 seconds to get engine oil pressure on the Flu. Reminds me of a Deuce and a half. How soon do you get engine oil pressure?
The brakes do not require air to function, though they require air to function well. The brake lights should illuminate when pedal is pushed.
Assuming you are familiar with proper operation of the military light switch, try the black-out lights to see if their brake lights work.
or just pull...
You missed at least one cause.
6. Rust in the crossover air line contaminates the air system and plugs solenoids, filters, lines. This is a known issue and covered in the PS magazine articles.
Oils are not incompatible, additives are. As hydraulic oils are loaded with additives, I wouldn’t mix engine and hydraulic oil. If recapped in 2006, it is more than due for a fluid change. Military fluids were chosen for logistics, not lifespan.
There was someone on here that got the mount to place an auger on the backhoe in place of the bucket. They bought the adapter for a CASE 580, then rented a skid steer auger. Unbolted from the skid steer mount, bolted to the adapter for use, then returned when done. Potentially the same could be...
I believe the army specified 30wt motor oil in the lubrication order. Many, myself included, drain and refill with hydraulic oil. It is not good to mix types as additive packages can have ugly incompatiblities.
If this is the flat spike piece you speak of, it looks like the plastic hand-guard on yours is broken. Part number 07473(check the Flu manual to verify) is available for a reasonable price online.
I do really like the chainsaw. It is powerful, light, and quiet. Also the oiling is pretty simple...
If you have a CS06120M, it came with a 3/8” pitch chain of 59 links. Since the military model was apparently a short production run, it is possible some may be equipped with a CS06 which is 0.325” pitch and 64 links. If you have a CS06, you can convert it to 3/8 with an Oregon 18720 sprocket...
I didn’t realize we had an expert. Since you are blessing us with knowledge, can you share the pitch and number of links we need?
The issue is not getting the parts. The issue is assuming that all FLU chainsaws are the same. As I found out, not all of them are 3/8” pitch. Check before ordering.
I have 2 of the Stanley chainsaws, one came with my FLU, and one was bought from a forum member. Both green and having the FLU hydraulic quick connects.
Based on this forum and looking at the saw on my FLU, I bought a 3/8 pitch 24” bar and chain intending to put the longer bar on my spare saw...
