mine is starting to flake off in quarter size chunks.Down to the original factory paint and in some spots the primer. I’d say there’s at lease 9 layers of paint. Right in the middle there is clearly a layer of white.

Thanks Tracer. I’d say I was a little rusty…… I was on the tools for 15 plus years, my trade was fabrication but have lots of experience welding. I’ve been in management for the last 8 or 9 years. I build ships for the Canadian Navy. I’ll round the corners off and clean up the nozzle boogers...

    An American Deuce in Canada

I did take the truck out into the mountains back in February. 3 nights in the freezing rain and snow. I slept in the back with the cargo cover on. It was pretty cold lol I stayed fairly local. The lake I went to was fairly low elevation so I figured I wouldn’t run into too much snow. A few...

Next the drop sides. I used a zip cut to do all the cutting. Less clean up, less chance of fire, and nice accurate cuts. I’m near surgical with those babies. started with removing the old rusty sides and laying out the front corners. now I admit this isn’t a military spec refit, it’s custom...

    An American Deuce in Canada

So, The King Deuce is getting what might be it’s last set of major upgrades and repair. I’ve always wanted drop side beds. My winch needed replacement also. Unfortunately for us Canadians parts for these trucks don’t grow on trees like they do in the mighty USA! luckily for me a member here...

    An American Deuce in Canada

Hey Guys, Hope everyone is in good spirits and without hassle or pain. The Deuce has been relegated to Walmart, yard work, and car show duties for the most part. I have started a family and mountain expeditions have declined unfortunately. Time really does fly. I recognized the problem, I...

    An American Deuce in Canada

Here's a few more pictures. This spring has been really wet, that coupled with the excessive snow pack melting has created a lot of high lakes and rivers. Washed out bridges are a real concern on the forest service roads this time of year, especially on the roads less traveled. The water...

HAHAHA, That sign is classic. We actually saw 2 black bears on our way out, momma and a cub about a half mile from each other.

I was out exploring this past weekend. We camped along an old gold rush trail and came across this old grave site. Victims of smallpox.

    An American Deuce in Canada

Trailer is ready for paint. The deuce is coming back into the shop for her pre-summer maintenance. Lots of plans this summer. I'll try to take more vids and pictures. There will be no major upgrades, wheel bearings (standard), a dog bone, grease, brake shoes, Air-O-Matic servicing, and an...

I put together a montage of old footage. I stole a few pictures off the internet so all credit goes to the photographers, wherever you might be! https://youtu.be/4y1Mp4OWMr0

I don't mind guys. Your stories are entertaining. If you are being charged by a Grizz then you are probably buggered either way. I'd just empty the magazine into it and curl up in a ball.

Grizzly bear Is always a concern you will start to see around the same time you see the moose. I've never seen one but almost certain I've heard them on one or two occasions. I've encountered fresh t*rd on a quad trip away from camp. I poked it with a stick, no skin on it. I chambered the...

I see lots of deer and the odd Black bear, then you will see moose as you go further North. Often I find tracks for mountain lions and the wolves howl during the night. Mostly they stay away because my campsites usually sound like the Battle for the Bulge on any given day.

    An American Deuce in Canada

Nov.11 of last year I took the trailer and truck out for one last camping trip before winter. Had a great time and thought of a few ways to improve the trailer. So to start I bought 4 more HEMTT wheels. Then I mounted a couple of my spare 395's on them. Finally I tossed them babies right...

    An American Deuce in Canada

Loose Deuce She's being used this summer that is for sure. A few 100 km on forest service road, several car shows, and wonderful memories. I entered her in her 3rd car show a couple weeks back. I really enjoy watching the kids climb all over it, big smiles as always. A couple young boys...
