Also keep in mind that most things you can just walk onto a stealership and drive/tow away are mostly built on the inside with staple guns. So yeah, that stuff ends up at floor level pretty quickly off road.
But at the end of the day, if you want it done "right" you do it yourself.

Not that it matters, but this is what I've settled on. Almost all weight slung low at frame (except fresh).
No batteries in house (especially under bed which is suicide).
All diesel heaters mounted outside of actual hab.
Underbed storage can be removed if I need to haul something long inside...
