Dang. We put over 120 miles on it like that in May! I'm surprised the truck did so well.
Just realized we forgot to post pictures of all that!!!
Here are the measurements of my exhaust stack.
 Trying to find a truck with a cab heater isn't so easy down here. I think Canada ended up with all of them. One of these days I'll have to try to get you to sell me one or two.
I'm finally getting rested back up from the trip north. We played hard, accomplished much and slept little. We had so much fun, but I am paying for it this week. Now that I am more rested, I figured I'd share some pictures and some more of the story.
First is the picture of the snake that...
I haven't been keeping up with you guys since we got here. We had a really nice drive up here to Montana.
We left out last Friday after work. Due to poor planning on my part, no motels were available after we got to the desired stopping point. The closest available motel was hours away so that...
I'll try. Still have not been to successful scaring up extra cash lately, but I know someone that will have a couple extra M135 cargo beds in the near future.
Your wife is going to hate me before this is over.
Scrounger....eh?
I really like the color and am glad to see it on something. I've not used it yet, even though I matched it a couple years ago. Thanks for testing it for me. Haha! That motivates me to get my truck done. I'm definitely using that paint color.
Another thought.....I have seen mentioned where guys have used the bell housing off of an old CCKW to bolt onto the 302 to convert to standard. Surely it is the halves that must stay together but I really don't know.
We missed that detail when we found the engine. I wonder what would happen if you used the halves off the other engine?
Looks like the crate engines in post #40 in this thread have both halves.
Surely it was only the halves that were machined together and not those and the engine.
Not that I am aware of. I did not notice that it ate anything away, but it sure penetrated some rust that had been there a long time caused by corrosive blackpowder. That was on an original US Model 1861 Springfield.
I would check with McMaster-Carr for that bolt if you haven't already found some.
For the stuck engine, if what you have in there shows no sign of working, I would try Kroil. I've used it to free 150 year old seized gun parts with success. Pretty sure your truck hasn't been stuck that long...
That is probably what I would do. I wonder what the +/- tolerance on those pins are? I didn't have any to measure. In other words is a 1" pin really 1" or is it undersized to whatever to fit in a 1" hole?
