So that pin at the top has two O rings internally on each end of the cap. They were in pretty bad shape on mine. Yes, that is a hose clamp holding the top in place. It worked for a month (with a tack weld) until I could get another bag.

So from what I can tell there is four leakage points to look at if you have air escaping from an air shock. There are the two o rings on the cross pin up top. The bag itself is one, and then the O ring on the bottom here. Mine was leaking at the bottom, once replaced it was all set.

This is the top end of the bag with the destroyed bushing material. You can see where I errantly cut the band off the top. Foolish move….. I had some round stock from a project, so I turned out a set of bushings.

Whatever you do don’t cut the band! I did that on my first one before I understood how they come apart. once that cross pin is removed the unit can be separated into two major assemblies. The shock, and the bag. The bag assembly has a steel ring at the bottom that slips into the shock assembly...

Yeah it’s a pretty easy fix replacing those bushings. Just pull the snap ring off the shaft, knock it through. Then the bag can be separated from the shock. It’s only a friction fit to the base. Then dump out all the broken bushing bits. Replace the destroyed bushing with whatever you find. I...

What products did you use to insulate the doghouse?

Very nice update. I like the extra blinkers, and yes it’s my experience too that nobody can see the stock units flashing. I was working lights yesterday as well. I added bed work lights and reverse lights too. Both are a big help!

Is there a write-up somewhere that covers replacement and updating to JIC? Sizes, fittings etc? I don’t have problems yet, but would like to start collecting the parts to have on hand for when it does.

They are useful for sure. I have one, it’s sharp and ready to go. Until then it’s up on the wall in my living room. I run a few saws, if it’s not starting for you check the on/off switch. 🤣

Nice work, that’s on my short list to accomplish. I’d like a chainsaw in the box. A common issue is a tree down across the road when storms rage.

Installed the winter radiator cover. Not too bad, would have been nice to have a second set of hands. I’ve now taken a couple of drives, she warms up quickly! Even had the fan turn on after a 40 minute or so drive. Currently wx is in the 40’s.

^^ Didn’t do anything that cool^^ I just made a door handle latch. Mine was coming apart, the pot metal it’s cast of is complete garbage. So I used 1/8” steel and made a new handle and legs. Totally not worth the time, unless you aren’t able to order new/different handles.

Fixed the fuel/water separator on the engine. As someone had mentioned there was junk in the check valve in their unit, mine was the same. I pulled it off the truck to inspect and document. The check valve is a very simple device, just a stopper held by spring steel.

Double shot…. Too quick on the trigger.

I was able to put a few hours together to work on big truck. I got the PTO installed on the transmission. It took a bit longer than two hours. I dropped the front driveshaft for clearance, though I’m sure the PTO wouldn’t fit otherwise. Removed the cover plate, used some gasket remover to get...

I guess I should add that the order of parts is the -an *90 fitting, debris screen ( had to pick it out and reshape after) 1/8’ hex set screw (has a hole all the way through for fluid flow) spring, then the check ball, second spring. One thing I will add is when reassembling the parts don’t...

Finally got into my OE spare tire lift cylinder. It had locked up just a after I got the truck and would not move. I had replaced it with a commercial cylinder, no internal safety locks, and it wouldn’t quite lower the tire all the way. I had saved the original and got some time to look into it...

Yeah I was wondering if you were heading this way. You may be able to just flip the pumpkins over to reverse your direction? But the issue with that would be driveline angles get worse…. Maybe? I’m not close to a truck to look.

Mag drills are the best, and now with centerless cutters they are the berries. How about putting another steer axle in the rear?
