Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I think the module is called a DRAC module and is where the speed can be adjusted in the factory setup on tire changes and the like. It is a 1991 Suburban with a 5.7 gas engine, 700R4 transmission and NP241 transfer case. The module is right about where the starter relay is in the CUCV trucks...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I did find my oil pressure light issue....it was just the bulb. The engine is running much better with a new fuel filter and fresh diesel too. I'm working on title work, tag and tires and I should be able to drive it home. It has been hard driving 50 miles one way several times a week to get...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I like the way yours came out better. I had trouble getting mine to lean back so I could see them easily so I went with the full on dash mod! : ( Did you have trouble with the speed signal from the sender? I had to put in a "pull up" resistor to get it to work. Heres the picture of it. I...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

Not much more to show at this point as the project has been on hold for quite some time since they were installed. I bought Speed Hut gauges...Speedo, tach, oil pressure, water temp, volts and fuel. I've been driving the suburban without the top of the dash for a long time now but plans are to...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

Started back on the gauge install. TIG welding in not the best but it is my first project on aluminium. The gauges are leaning back toward the dash so I can see them now. Still working on the top of the dash. My plan is to contact cement leather on the aluminum or paint with bed/trunk paint...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

They were almost $1000......$400 more then I paid for the Suburban to start with! : (

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I went with the Speed Hut gauges and like them. I don't like the rear leaning I got using the factory bezel so will be re-doing the dash at some point but I needed them to be in the vehicle since the odometer was not working and the speedo was not close to accurate. I like the tach addition...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

Thanks for the input. I wonder if one could use shielded coax for the signal wire and ground the shield? I am about to bite the bullet on one of these clusters so your info will help. Anyone have input on the Classic Instrument or the New Vintage USA clusters?

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

The CUCV uses 12 volts in everything except the glow plugs and the starter. The dash is identical to a M1008, M1009....etc. It's still a square body Chevy.

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

Has anyone used the Dakota Digital (RTX/HDX), New Vintage USA or Classic Instrument gauge clusters designed for the Chevrolet/GM Squarebody vehicles? I'm specifically updating my 1991 V1500 Suburban with bad odometer, incorrect speedometer and no tachometer and wanting to update to have all...
