Lowering the exhaust brings the "noise cone" closer to the cab roof and and window, so it is likely going to be louder. Mine was, too, when I replaced the end pipe with the 90 degree turn with a shorter straight pipe and flapper.
There is a reason why some trucks have long stacks, other than the...
@pitpawten If you have not done so, yet, having the cooling system filled with water would be the time to remove the thermostat, pop a couple of Cascade capsules into the radiator and drive the truck up to operating temp for a good 20-30 minutes. Let cool down, then pop the lower rad hose off...
Yup, unfortunately that is very common with these frames. I don't look at mine, so I do not have that problem. No, seriously, I rehabbed mine a few years ago and they are almost due for the next round. I tried sealing the glass/frame interface with clear silicone to prevent water from seeping...
Windshield Glass Dimensions:

Re fiberglass tops...you need to talk to the vendors and see what they are willing to do. I do not claim to be current on the latest pricing; they may have skyrocketed for...
@pitpawten my thoughts are
- there are still auto glass places that actually cut laminated glass themselves. The Deuce windshields are flat and as easy to make as it gets. A place that cuts glass for construction equipment etc. would be best because they can hook you up with the rubber strips as...

If one wanted to have the wheel bearings oil lubricated (as they are in a modern truck) the whole "diff gear oil runs outboard through the axle housing and lubricates bearings" stuff makes sense.
If one...
The horn wire should exit the column through a conical rubber plug (that likely disintegrated or was "weight saved" and omitted by Soldier B). Without it, the wire chafes at the edge of the column.
@Dipstick I dig the flatbed and my issues would be
- can't let that super nice wood become wet in the rain
- can't let that super nice wood get scratched by things placed on top of it ! Maybe a gym bag or a soft sided suitcase!
I'll get right on that! I am still medicating for the poison ivy rashes I got after crawling around in that greenery! As always....my fault. It started as "While I am out here, I 'll quickly do THAT"......and so it goes.
Just to prove that no good deed goes unpunished; in the course of the storm cleanup the community association asked me if I could remove the remains of a 1930' Chevrolet from the woods. The car was abandoned there some 50 years ago and has since collapsed and parts were salvaged extensively. The...
We got hit by a massive storm last week, causing widespread damage and power outages for days. Helping in the community with cleanup. The Deuce is small enough to fit into most driveways.
